• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Mode button?

My bike used to star right up when pressing the mode switch on the handlebar.

Since I took the bike in to the dealer to complete a few outstanding campaigns last week I have to press the mode button on the dash.

Is there a setting to change it back to the handlebar switch?

They should both work. One doesn't override the other; there is no switch to change which one works..

THE " MODE " BUTTON

I have noticed on my 08 G/S that it is pretty fussy about " exactly " how long you press and hold the button before it will start.!!!..Mike

Mike is right, if I don't hold the Mode button long enough on my 2011 RS-S the ECC won't acknowledge it. It doesn't say in the owner's manual that you have to hold the button down any specific length of time but, at least on mine, a quick press won't work.

when i first got my 2011 RS it was a 'tad' bit finicky about how long you pressed it.
until my dumb :cus: realized Press doesn't mean HOLD.
but if you press for more than about 1/4 second it does not register.
so it might be getting a little sensitive on time of the tap.....just my guess.
