• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

mirror covers

Last year, at Deadwood, a guy rolls up on a brand new 2019 F3LTD. He was so proud! He brought it over for an alignment, and to show it off. It was beautiful, except one small detail:
Both mirror covers were gone! We made it a point to check every one that came in our booth. Most were ready to make a break for it! Check them often, and put a small piece of clear Gorilla tape on the underside. If it does fall, the tape will hold it long enough for you to notice it!

When they took the turn signals off the mirrors in 19 the solid covers didn’t seem to fit and, as Joe said, they tend to fall off.

So far so good on my 2020. I checked them when I put my wedgies in tonight and they clip in fairly strong. Time will tell. Maybe they improved them a bit this year, but doubtful...

Interesting. I wonder if the dreaded mirror shake puts strain on the locking tabs....................
One of my mirrors shakes pretty bad, the other doesn't.
I haven't figured that out yet either.

I hit an amazing bump/hole on a dirt road and heard something hit the ground. Got home and one of the covers was gone. I thought, I'll just order another one. OVER $100! Following day, went back to the scene of the crime and found it. Only had some scratches on the bottom. Still running it today. I got a set of Baker wings which come with a bracket & screws. It won't come off again!

Last night on I-85 in VA, old concrete road, I hit a grapefruit sized concrete chunk. Both covers popped off. Found them this AM. The covers will need painting, since they went flying at 75mph. Oh, the right wheel was bent & rim cracked some 60 degrees, as in cracked enough to stick a popsickle stick through.

BOTH of my mirror covers fell off today! Found one. It's pretty beat up. Don't know where the other one went. Does anyone know if BRP is replacing them under warranty? The machineF3 LTD with 2,800 miles. I suppose it depends how the dealer writes it up...

I hit a substantial pothole, the left cover came off and could not be found. The right mirror and cover came off completely, however the wires kept it connected to the bike. The bike is under warranty but the dealer stated that is was not covered. $120 for the cover and 1/2 hour labor at $50. I put a clear piece of gorilla tape along the bottom to hold them on should this happen again

Since this thread started, I've made two improvements.
First, I used Lamont's technique to minimize the mirror shake. This will hopefully eliminate the source of the covers coming off.
Second, I installed Spyder Pops Vision Kit. This includes two run/turn signal lights at the mirrors.
I chose to install the LED light strip on the front of the mirror to mimic the old turn signals.
The wiring to the LED light will act as a lanyard if anything should happen.

Both of my mirror covers have come off. I recovered the right and had to go on Ebay to replace the left. I glued mine on which I may regret one day when the bulbs need replaced. But in northeast Ohio the highway expansion joints are so severe that gluing them on gives me peace. The BRP clips are crap. I almost lost one of my F3T's rear speaker grills also. With the speaker grill I was able to secure with a screw. The screw can only be seen when opening the trunk lid. I spent 80 bucks for the used mirror cover. I can only imagine what a speaker grill/cover would cost.

I put Baker built hand wings on under mirror. Solves problem since you drill thru the cover and add a bracket that holds the cover on.
