• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

I havent had much time for riding, but have managed to put close to 400 miles on since bringing my Spyder home a few weeks ago....first few fill ups were at 26mpg....today I got 29 mpg.......hoping to get mid 30's eventually!!!

I have gotten as little as 23MPG to as much as 36MPG. I've found that as long as I can ride without stopping a lot I get better gas mileage. When I use my :spyder2: for commuting (20 mile round trip), I get around 24-26MPG. Lately, some of the weekend rides I've been on have gotten me between 32 and 36MPG. :ohyea::yes::ohyea:

Wish I could get more than I do.... It doesn't seem to matter, on the road and around town I get 24-26 MPG.

The best I ever got was on a long long back road and speed was never over 50 and never under 40, and then I got 31. And that occured only once and on the same road.

I think the Mileage increases in the summer because of the striuegermyer syndrome.
Something about warmer temps = Better mileage? Any Experts Know for Sure????

Well things are loosening up as break-in occurs... The warmer temperatures result in a less-dense charge of air, so the computers do throw less fuel into the fire. (less-dense charge....)

Of course this should be no surprise, I've found speed to be the single biggest factor in gas mileage.

On a regular day of driving or commuting at 55 mph or better I'm in the high 20's, maybe 28 or 29.
On some weekend rides with friends on the back roads at 30 to 40 mph I can be as high as 36 mpg.

The bike needs more rage to use as a daily commuter so you don't have to stop for gas every two days.

It must be the red color. My RT gets 31 to 36 just about every time. Yesterday it was 37 on the last 150 miles. Nice easy ride with only some GA foothills and all good riding back roads. I don't think we went over 60 all day except when the Harley guy passed me to get to the rest room quicker. I followed him so he didn't get lost. Had lunch with 120 retired guys from the Georgia Army Guard's Mohawk and Huey units. Boy, are we getting old!! :yikes:

I second that.

I have the Dynojet PowercommanderV & Autotune and along with and increase in power, much smoother power curve, I also got an increase in mileage.

Commuting on my RS, I have to refuel every 2-2.5 trips (25 miles one way to work) and it usually gets me 120-130 miles to the tank. My personal best on my Spyder is 209 miles on a tank, achieving it on Hwy 49 here in CA. On my way to SitR. My previous/second best is 207 New years day riding over Big Bear, we made it from Victorville to Escondido. By we, meaning me and my friend on an RT. He achieved 205 on the same tank. Don't know how there is that big og a difference in the miles.
