• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. Melted Master Cylinder 2013 RT

Yeah, we all feel sorry for her .......................... BUT .......................... She married him so go figure. (We are picking on Bullant12 here, Right?)

Cruzr Joe

It's cracking me up that you had to check since the wife comment could easily be substituted for someone else we love to pick on! Both those sisters are SAINTS, IMHO!! :roflblack:

As far as rider comfort I think there are a few things that can be done. I worked with Spyderpops to fix the issues I had and my last problem was I was still getting a very hot right foot and I was able to seal the cracks where the heat was coming from and now I'm very happy with the mods that helped me. I'm sure that the vented side panel that's on the 14's will do wonders for moving hot air out of the engine compartment while moving. It's not going to do anything for you sitting in traffic but I was able to put mine to the test while trying to get into the parking lot at the balloon fest in NY. We didn't move much for about an hour and it was hot but the Spyder did fine and I wasn't burning up. :doorag:[/QUOTE]

Are you able to share any of these heat management workings you have developed?

thank you

barry

 That's almost unbelieveable :gaah:... yet I believe you, when you say that it happened! :banghead:

If I wasn't living through it, I don't think I'd believe it, either. I am 65 and have never dealt with a business that has such poor, outright rude, "customer service." The IRS is better to deal with!

I too would welcome any of theses ideas/suggestions. Thanks in advance.

I'm not too concerned that it's going to burst into flames but I will be checking from time to time if there are any signs before I get the recall done.
Not sure how often you look at your evap cannister and master cylinder cap but I hope it's often.

Mine went from brand new to spewing fluids all over the exhaust in a week (2660 miles to be exact... it was a busy week :doorag: ) With some of the road trips I know you do, that could happen anytime.

Now it's still possible that some ST's have issues and some don't... maybe yours doesn't?

I know this strikes home with you but when I said that only two RT's have known to have caught fire it was not down playing the seriousness of this problem. What I said was the facts and the facts are Spyders are not bursting into flames by the masses as you would think by reading some of the post here. The fact that master cylinders are melting and now there have been reports of evap cans melting is not a good thing and for sure should not be taken lightly. If BRP thought that this was a high risk as far as the number of Spyder fires were high you can bet they would be telling owners to park them till the recall was performed. I think I have 7K on my ST right now and it's a production unit and it has not had the recall done yet but I will be getting it in asap but I'm not too concerned that it's going to burst into flames but I will be checking from time to time if there are any signs before I get the recall done.
Glad you are having no issues.... hope it continues for you..... good luck. I'm sure you will be getting a 2014 soon... so it may not be a problem for you. I find it hard to believe you posted this..... encouraging folks to not get the recall done....people will follow your example......just sayin'....

Mark,
I don't think that he said this at all... He's getting his recall done A.S.A.P.; he's just not too worried about his STS catching fire. :dontknow:

We know what you and Char are going through with her bike; other folks having confidence in theirs isn't going to diminish what you've had to endure.

Oh... I thought that was just an oil cooler... I didn't know if it would be as affected.

Denman! That thing called "an oil cooler" is a big heat generator. Your engine oil helps to cool the engine just like the water in the radiator.

:sour: :lecturef_smilie:

If I remember right from my brief days in the race shop oil temps run around 400 degrees and up.....
:sour: :lecturef_smilie:

But twice?? :dontknow:
I'm pretty sure that I mentioned my concerns about doing this; I didn't know how much heat was being put out by that cooler...
Just looking at all of the options; even the bad ones! :opps:

Now why would you go and say a thing like that about my state?! <burp> :bbq:

Faran? And to think his wife has to put up with him. :yikes::yikes::yikes::yikes: (as you know)

I'm still trying to figure out who's married to who here, we need a list. :roflblack:

Wow... I don't know where to start... So I won't!:roflblack:

Snoopy... We can start another thread on that...
