• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Meet Clutch - New Spyder Owner

welcome and :congrats: but, it's too bad you didn't get a yellow :spyder: !!! We all know they're the fastest! :roflblack:

welcome
I want to introduce Al (aka Clutch), my no longer envious neighbor and new Spyder owner. He picked up his "new" 2008 SM5 this morning and we rode here and there together. He's logged 90 miles on his first day. He's so excited!! Now there are two Spyders in the court. :D

welcome:thumbup: Just a question what is that on side in front of the Can Am sticker?

WOW, :2excited:

What a welcome party...looking forward in meeting all of you somewhere on the open highway.

Like my neighbor said, I had some help with the gear. Its been awhile since my riding days, helmets aren't what they use to be (Bell open face helmet). I've owned old dirt and street bikes from the late 60's n 70's. Honda Trail 90, Suzuki 120, Hodaka W Combat 125 and a '70 Honda 350.

Been watching my neighbor zip out of here on the weekends for two years and grinding my teeth. Finally said, the hell with it and cashed those saving bonds.

MODS: SM5 2008 Spyder less than 4800 miles, Touring windshield w/ side deflectors, Backrest, and waiting for my Two brothers singl exhaust pipe coming this week.

Sturgis? When in August?:2thumbs:

To answer your question on whats attached to the machine just below the handle bars...their deflectors that came with the new touring windshield. That windshield blocks out 90% of the air hitting my body and my hands. Those deflectors block the air hitting my legs. From what SpyderGirl has told me, some riders have smelled the exhaust lingering because of the deflectors. I didn't smell the carbon mixed fuel lingering in the vicinity, but then it was in the 50*s when we rode yetersday. Will have to see what its like on a hot day...

Looking forward to many great rides together. It's too bad that my girlfriend in Concord can't join us... doctor said at least 3 more months until she can ride. :(
