• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Go Bruce Go !!!!!

Hello everyone....just a thought....

since Bruce is running the marathon right now in Ottawa ....actually he's been running for about 2.5 hours now(ouch)..... lets show our SpyderLovers' spirit and all have a positive thought for him to get him through to the finish line.

Go Bruce GO !!!

I'm back!

Still recuperating? :D I hope that everything went well for you Bruce.

Thanks Brian and Deb, and everyone else for your kind messages and thoughts. I just got back a few hours ago. I took today off, knowing I wouldn't feel much like riding back right after finishing the marathon. It's a six to seven hour trip from Ottawa to London. It was a great experience. I loved every minute of it! I am a little stiff today, so I will give the old legs a couple of rest days and start running again later this week. I completed the race in a little over five hours - not exactly Kenyan speed, but it was about what I was aiming for, and what the heck, I just wanted to finish it!:D
On Saturday morning, I met up with Monique and her husband Bob. Monique was on her Spyder "Lil Pumpkin" and Bob was on his H-D Electra-Glide. I heard Monique's Hindle before I actually saw her. She and Bob led me over to the giant Spider sculpture and we rode our Spyders on to the plaza where it is located. Monique figured we had about three minutes before we would be confronted by security, so we took some pics as quickly as we could.
Next, a pic I had a bystander take just before the marathon started and one I took just as the race began. It gives you a sense of how many people were involved (over 4000 did the full marathon)!
Thanks again everyone. You have no idea how much moral support from as many folks as possible matters, especially by around the 35th kilometre!
Cheers,
Bruce
Oops, I almost forgot, I wanted to post a pic of Monique and Bob. Here it is, outside the Starbucks coffee shop where we went after our surreptitious photo shoot!

Good luck, Director. I have never been a runner, but I admire those that are. If you remember, check Monique's Gorilla alarm and see how she has it installed. Thanks a bunch.

Hey Dudley, I did remember to ask Monique about her alarm. The box itself is located behind the instrument cluster, but it had already been installed by the dealer when she got her Spyder, so she doesn't know exactly how it was wired in. She did say she thought it was a little too sensitive, and would probably try to make some adjustments to it because of that.

LOL! Thanks ataDude! I saw a great shirt at the vendors expo on Saturday. It said, "Will run for beer". I didn't buy it, but I was tempted. There were also some stickers that were meant for runners, but upon reflection I think they could apply to Spyder owners with certain windshields as well - "Toenails are for sissies".
