• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Made the call to get the call...

I called my dealer to check on any news for May.
He already had my name on a short call list because he just got a "Pile" of Spyder's.
I guess a bunch of wooden crated boxes would resemble a "Pile".

He is supposed to confirm if one of them is mine either today of Monday.

HEY SOPHER I MADE THE SAME CALL TODAY TO MY DEALER. HE SAID THAT HE IS GETTING ALOT OF ORDERS IN ALSO. THE WAY IT LOOKS I WILL PROBABLY BE GETTING MINE SOON TOO. I CAN'T WAIT. :congrats: ON GETTING YOUR :spyder:

I guess I have to deside how to get her home. I'm an admitted newbie.
So 40 minutes of highway as a first time may not be a good thing.
I could go back roads.
I could rent a Uhaul trailer.
Of maybe they can deliver it.

I try the backroads route. It will be a good way to get used to the Spyder ride.
:spyder:

I'm still in the midst of getting insurance. In Massachusetts as of last week (April 1 for Autos) their is now managed competition.

This is where I could easily choose the wrong insurance company and get a raw deal. :(

CONGRATS!!! :congrats: Deffinitely drive it home - you will be used to it in five minutes and will love the ride!
:welcome:

Since I still have to get insurance, the dealer offered to let me borrow his utility trailer to trailer it home.
Yeah the drive would do me good, but I don't want to rush on the insurance. It's wildly broad quotes!
$671, $1371 etc.
It seems in-experience gets whacked with a higher fee.

Your bike might be covered on your auto policy for short time 2 weeks, call first. Take the long back way home and enjoy.Your rates are high wow.Might give progressive a shot.Regards Dyno 824

Since I'm in Taxachusetts...er um.. Massachusetts, for some stupid reason, Geico, Progressive and probably more do not offer insurance here. Oddly, they advertize heavily on Boston TV stations.

Who knows how this works.......? We live in Michigan and when we were shopping for our Spyder insurance, some companies wouldn't insure the Spyder in this state. I think Geico was one of them. Why would they insure in a vehicle in some states but not others? Must be some of the same reasons why some insurance companies charge many times more for insurance in one state than they charge for insurance in another state. :dontknow:

Michigan is a no-fault insurance state. Motorcycles, however, are not no-fault. Don't ask me to explain...it defies explanation. Anyway, it creates difficulties for motorcycle insurance that only lawyers can understand. As a result, a number of companies won't insure bikes here. More of them, like State Farm, have added motorcycle coverage in the past few years, so there is hope. Now explain how rates can vary so darned much in one location, from company to company.

I use Farmers Insurance for eveything so I got a good rate on my Spyder...about $350 a year, full coverage. ;D

I went to Farmers web site and clicked on Massachusetts...
"We are sorry, Farmers Insurance is not available in your state."

That's just
