Looking to buy a new STS for the wife and need help please

So far, no rentals in AZ this year (got the massage on my phone last night) I think the wife wants the STS, SE5 in Yellow, now should we:

Buy now or wait for the 2014's?

Go to the bike show in Longh Beach for a Demo ride from BRP if all that works out?

Is there a size diferances in the three models?

How can I call BRP direct?

What do you think?
Thanks
Chris

I sent you a PM.

When I purchased my RT-S a bit over a month ago, my RideNow Dealer waived the Freight and setup charges. I would propose that at the very least for your deal. But now that you have this price as your new baseline, call the Chandler store and have them beat it! I think purchasing a maintenance plan is actually a good idea since the costs are so high to service these things. I paid $1369 for the first 6 recommended services.

Sounds like your getting close! How exciting!

This is what the sales man sent me...

Great to chat with you about the Spyder ST Limited. I have the Spyder here at the shop ready to ride. I will be more then happy to show you the machine in more detail and give you a quick spin on the machine. I totally understand with a big purchase of the Spyder you need to see how it feels on the roads.

If you have good credit....you can get 60,72 month terms as low as 3.99%

The Spyder Retail was $28,142.59 OTD.

The Spyder is on sale for $26,418.87 OTD

Here is the breakdown of the sale price...

MSRP: $23,000.00
Freight: $397.63
Set Up: $388.00
Doc/License: $777.96
Tax: $1855.28

Total: $26,418.87

Let me know when you want to come down

Thanks for the email

Hi Chris, unfortunately the 2013 RT-S is just as plagued with known heat issues. Do some searches on this site and you will see. But don't get too discouraged as all of us with 2013 RT-S's don't have problems. Once again, it all comes down to $$$. If you want a great deal right now, go with the 2013 RT-S. I did and don't regret it... yet  Other's will obviously tell you differently.

If all of the Spyder models have heat issues in some of them then it's not a hardware/cover issue it’s a software problem and then itfalls to the buyer’s luck…
How many of the RT's have this heat problem/ anyone?

Chris,
The RT and ST bikes for 2013 have had some pretty serious problems with excessive heat.... :opps:
My clearly uneducated gut , tells me that BRP WILL have a handle on it for the upcoming model year...
The ST (and RS) bikes will get new body panels that allow for more airflow...
The RTs have had a complete revision to everything under the bodywork...engine, electrical, and cooling systems have been changed.
BRP knows what would happen to them if the heat issues continue unabated... :yikes:
Hang in there!
Remember: It's not what you've got in them that's important; it's what you get OUT of them that matters the most!

Ending the hunt for now...

This is what I sent out to all the dealers that I was working with.....

After an extensive and exhaustive review of web-sites and forms I have found that over 50% of 2013 RT and ST model owners are having moderate to severe HEAT problems. These issues to date have not been resolved to any of the owner’s satisfaction. We have decided to curtail the hunt for any 2013 models at this time and see what the 2014 models have to offer.

Thanks for your assistance,
Chris & Sandy

I too am considering a trade for the 2014 ST and so far I have one report they are fine and keep waiting for more to be sold and driven to find out more? It may be a few months? I think the problem involves more than the New Intake panel to solve?
