• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Looking for a loud pipe - any ideas?

LOUD PIPES DO SAVE LIVES

it has for me many times on the back roads when it comes to wildlife. I'll run a minimum of 24km's of back road everytime im out on the spyder.

Bears, deer, moose, run away like my spyder is going to kill them !!!
If i'm in my vehicle the same wild animals pop out of the weeds and bolt in front or do the stupid dance. Never the case with my LOUD PIPE on my spyder. If animals are on the road I see them and they run for dear life. If there on the edge of the bushes they aint comin out cause they think my spyder will kill them:shocked: I assume they run deep in the bush when they here me comin at night. I could be wrong though.. I miss my LOUD LOUD PIPE, now I have a hindle not so loud but maybe loud enough.:D

It's probably safe to assume that we will never reach agreement on loud pipes. It would be a bland world if we all agreed on everything. But here is something that is not arguable. According to the AMA, California is currently considering a law to require stock exhaust systems on all motorcycles. That is OEM exhaust systems. It's easy to say, well that's just California, they do a lot of wierd stuff out there, but we have all seen laws in California become laws throughout the land.

I always wear a helmet, a good one, but I don't believe in helmet laws. I prefer quiet pipes but I would hate to see a national law requiring stock OEM pipes on motorcycles. In my opinion, overly loud, yes, obnoxious, exhausts are what lead to these kinds of laws. A little common sense, a little common decency, a little regard for the desires, if not the rights, of others goes a long way toward heading off these situations.

just gotta say it

Probably rude and inflammatory . . . But I personally hope that every one of you with loud pipes that do not meet your local or state requirements get fined huge $$$$$ by local law enforcement.

I don't think any of you would find it OK for a smoker to blow smoke in your face or smoke where it is not allowed.

If that is true why do you believe it is OK to blow noise into the ears of someone that does not want to hear your noise. This is an issue whether it is the sound of exhausts or someone with a loud audio system that shares their yougly music with someone that does not wish to hear it.

Civility is one of the thinks missing in society today. Some of you present images that you care for your fellow citizen -- but, not if it gets in the way of you making unwanted noise.

Sorry . . . I am really, really tired of bikes and audio systems interfering with my rights to a peaceful environment.

To each his own I guess. But, I have to say there are few things more impressive and mind blowing than 5 "super bikes" coming up rte 7 at 130mph+ fully piped and rockin' and rollin'! My jaw drops every time I see it. I can hear them coming almost a mile down the road. Absolutely wicked!:2thumbs:

I would rather be heard and be around here for my family, friends and kids then be DEAD because the old man in a hat or the little old lady that cant see over the steering wheel could see me or HEAR ME!!!:gaah: For the few seconds that you hear my exhaust or my OBNOXIOUS STEREO on my bike, DEAL with it:chill:. I know my wife and kids don't mind!

By the way, this exhaust has been on my wifes SE5 for over a year now and sounds great! http://www.esicycleproducts.com/exhaust.html

:agree: :2thumbs:  Had loud pipes on every bike I ever had.Not a single person EVER came up to me and said anything about my loud pipes. You have problem with me or my loud pipes come see me not post and talk about it on web sites.

20 years on fighters has done much damage to my hearing. However, I wouldn't mind a pipe on my RTS that has a little better rumble than the stocker on there now. Several of my ryder friends wear ear protection under their helmets when ryding. I don't want it that loud. I will say that there are some obnoxious two wheelers around hear that love to rattle the windows when the can.

It's a little something I constructed from a canam parts, a glasspack tip, some stainless sink/drain/bathroom parts and stainless hardware. It sounds like:lecturef_smilie::shocked::yikes: to some and:yes::clap::thumbup:to others. While I'm riding that machine and exercising that little coffee can, I feel like:2thumbs::ohyea::D:firstplace: and sit back after the ride is over in :p mode. It sounds very unique and hasn't had a back fire problem, the spool down between gears...I love it. When I visit 8~10k, it converts to this gas welder hiss. I took it up SRC and people were waiting to see what was coming up the mountain.

Two Bros Slip on w/o silencer tip

Hey Everyone.

About two months ago, I put on a Two Brothers M2 on my SE5. It's crazy loud. I live in an apt complex right now with a bunch of other riders with loud equipment so it really hasn't been an issue but I think it's only a matter of time before I give in and buy a silencer to calm it down a little. It pretty much sounds like it has 800 hp under the bike when you go through the gears on the throttle. :yikes: :2thumbs::clap::yes:

I understand both views myself but I see it this way. We all spent a lot of $ on our machines so we should have them just the way we want them. I dont like stock quiet and some dont like loud. Myself I try to be in the middle with my setup. I agree with the group of supperbikes up on pipe...pure music. The best of all is on a still night in the distance, the sound of a KZ1000 with a 4 into 1 Kerker hitting 8 grand. That still gives me goose bumps.

This is my preferance.
