• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

immediately followed by the thought.. PLEASE NO ONE HIT ME IN THE BACKEND!

A hard, but necessary lesson.

Anyway, add to the list if you like.

I did about the same thing when approaching about a 1/4 mile of drifted snow across both lanes. Went to hit the flashers and hit the kill switch. Hand my hands in handlebar muffs and had to hunt for the switch:yikes:

Don't sneeze in your full face helmet with the face shield down. That can have a very negative impact on visibility. :D

I have hit the kill switch enough times in my life to recognize the symptoms and recover quickly these days. I pull in the clutch, reset the switch, and give her the gas. Seldom lose more than 10 mph. If you screw up enough times, it begins to seem quite normal! :roflblack:

I've never hit the kill switch but now that you have put the idea in my head I'm sure I will do it next season.

When I was riding the GS I accidentally changed the speedometer to kph and then couldn't figure out how to change it back. That drove me crazy.

Never did that in my helmet, but I can relate to it with my CPAP (full) mask :roflblack::roflblack:

Same effect, only I am hoping you were in bed and not riding down the road when that happened. :roflblack:

The M button on my wife's Spyder actually fell off, and it was stuck in Km with no way to get it back to Miles. The dealer did not think they could order that piece, but thanks to the good folks on this forum we were able to show them what to order. I tried to get her to pay attention to the RPM range she should be running in, but it ended up being much easier to just have her follow someone else while ryding until it got fixed.

Did this same thing riding at night on the Interstate. Once I realized what happened I felt like a complete idiot sitting there on the side of the Interstate on a bridge.

:ohyea:
Just remember; People that don't make mistakes are people that never do anything.:roflblack:
Bob... My Grampa; who was the wisest man I ever knew, told me the same thing once when I handed him a rifle that I had taken apart...
Draboo...    I'm glad that it turned out to only be a case of "big eyes and brown shorts! "

It only took a second before I had it back on a fish tailing. Didn't really loose any speed but the fish tailing when I hit the throttle did make it pucker time :yikes:.

I've done this too. I was trying to reset the trip meter as I drove. The bad part was I was pulling back on the interstate right in front of a cop with now way to tell what my speed was.

SE5-no clutch-screwed!!!

:roflblack::roflblack::roflblack: I have done both!!!:roflblack::roflblack::roflblack:

Sneezed in my helmet today on the way home... nojoke

Be thankful that you could sneeze in your helmet today...I'm looking at that cold white stuff all over no Spyder riding here!

Hitting kill switch on an RT/RS SE5 model

Rookie Question, so please forgive me. What happens when you hit the kill switch while riding a spyder with SE5 at 65mph ?:dontknow:

You lose your power steering and you slow down suddenly...just like at 30 mph. There is an exercise in the Spyder skills course in your manual to practice hitting the kill switch while moving, to see what it does and practice your reaction...at safer, slower speeds. I'd highly recommend that you find an empty parking lot or secluded road, and do just that. If you have not completed the entire skills course, I'd suggest that, too. Becoming familiar with your Spyder can save your life!
