• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Let me start with bike was fine at the end of the season when I stopped riding in late November 2015. Trailered it to the dealer early March 2016 to replace battery, change oil and filler, and 2 new plugs. Trailered home, start to go for a ride two miles in and LIMP MODE kicks in can go but 4000 rpms. Call dealer " we can look at it at $125.00 per hour.":yikes: I just paid $775.00 that same day for the above. Anybody else have a problem with bike going into limp mode. By the way the dealer is C&C powersports in Louisville Ky. The same place that I bought the bike Last year.

Yes. Two reasons Ann gets Limp mode. Your reason could be different. These are our problems, easy tests to cross them off.

1. Bad cell in battery. Ann ignored battery warning light once and the Spyder ST went into Limp mode and then stopped a after a few miles. It resulted in a fried regulator and stator. Don't ignore battery warning lights. Buy a battery load tester for about $29 at Walmart to check battery occasionally and an auto battery tender also costs about $29 to keep it maintained while not riding.
2. Rear brake light sticks, sometimes caused by riding the brake (double check that). The VSS light will come on, then the limp mode. Ann has to tap brake to reset it. It's been in the shop 3 times for this and it's still doing it.

Neither of these problems need be catastrophic.

In #1 just stop, test battery (less than 12 volts), then get a new battery. Any spec battery (size doen't matter) you can wire up will work till you get what you want. I had to put in a HD battery with shock cord once. I carry a small travel multi-meter so I can diagnose something like this. I've had 2 Yuasa batteries in my MC go bad within two weeks due a bad cell. PS check alternator/stator at battery terminals by revving to 2,000 rpms and voltage < 13 volts.

In 2# when VSS light comes on, pull over to the side, check brake light, tap brake, check again. If VSS light or limp mode is still on turn off engine and waite 15 minutes and our spyder will reset. Restart and ride on. Tapping the brake generally fixes the problem before limp mode.

Have to agree...

:agree: we would need more information cause limp mode especially limiting your rpms can come from many places. If it clears after a computer reset and does not return it could be as simple as a glitch.....

Thanks for the help, it was vacuum hoses that had cracked
