• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Limp home mode

ok heres what went wrong when i was check my lights i had my lovely wife verified that the lights where working yes she the love of my life
so i check out the bulbs and both brake elements where broke yes 700 miles and both brake lights blew out not sure if they did both at the same time but they did so from that it looks like it does takes both brake lights out for it to go into limp home mode

:yes::ohyea::shemademe_smilie:

Maybe check that the fuses for the brake lights are the correct amperage - mine weren't (though the mix up didn't affect brake lights).

Okay, got it. Failed brake light elements in both your taillights caused limp mode, which verified what a previous poster said.

limp mode

yes if a break light is bad or (falls out) it does go to limp mode due to the brake system and the vss and the dps are linked in the computer on a rs

the rear lights are a pain even worse if you have the sport rack installed

DO NOT do as i did i figured if i was going to go through the time and effort to replace a bad bulb i decided to get LED replacement bulbs from auto parts store and placed them in the bike

it took 2 months of intermentant issues with the bike going to limp mode with vss and dps failures to have BRP ask the mechanic if i had diffrent lights installed he said yes they swapped the lights with regular and bam no more problems

you can get the LED lights add the resistor to them and it will work fine by the way the reason the LEDs mess up the systems it thinks it has blown blub due to the low current reading for the lights and it throws the computer into limp

hope this helps someone from the 2 months of issues i went through

on my 09 rs se5
