There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. Lifting a Spyder HF Deal

I have one of those, it has no problem lifting an RTL but lowering it is an issue. It slams down. Maybe it's just the one I have but I think I'd look at something a little more high end.

That seems to be a problem with this lift. I bought mine in 2008 and it had this problem. I traded it for another but as it had the same problem I just kept it and learned to deal with it. I didn't want to pay any more then I did and it didn't bother me. I used mine to change oil and service my Royal Star Tour Deluxe and other side stand only bikes. I haven't used it on the Spyder. I use car ramps now.

It wasn't bad for the Harley Night Rod that I bought it for. " To check the oil the bike needs to be level" OK and how do we do that while it's on it's side stand? Oh I guess you hold it in one hand while you remove the did stick. Go buy the HF jack problem solved. Fast forward to the RTL and almost crapped my pants as it dropped.

Mine descends rapidly, but I don't think I would describe it as "slamming" down. I agree with you though, if I used the lift on a more frequent basis, I'd be inclined to upgrade.

I have one of those also. The problem with it is that the manual states that if you only press the lowering lever half way it goes fast. If you press it all the wY its suppose to go slow. The problem with that is that it still has to transition from fast to slow. For me the easiest to lower it slow is to raise the spyder a few inches higher so the jask can transition better to slow down. Versus lowering it with the spyder only a few inches off the ground.

I didn't know that. I guess I should have read the manual:lecturef_smilie::lecturef_smilie::roflblack::roflblack: I will dig that out and see how that works as I no longer have that manual.

I see nothing about pushing the pedal all the way to make it lower slowly. This is from the manual that I have.

Lowering
1. Carefully remove all tools, parts, etc. from under the Lift.
2. Depress the Foot Pedal (27) slowly to raise the Lift enough to disengage the Stop Bars (41, 45). Lift up the Stop Bar Connecting Rod (40) and secure it to the Stop Bar Rod Clamp (37).
3. Press the Release Pedal (13a) slowly and gently lower the load. Never allow the load to come down quickly or suddenly.
4. Once the load is on the ground, remove the tie-down straps. When the Lift is clear of the load, turn the Lock Bolts (16) until they are clear of the ground, allowing the Rear Wheels (17) to firmly contact the ground. Roll the Lift out from under the load.

5. Clean external surfaces of the Lift with a clean, dry cloth. Store Lift in dry, indoor area out of reach of children.

When I first read that in the manual, I was like :hun::hun::hun:. Seems like it should be the other way around..... press the pedal halfway and it comes down slow, press it all the way and it comes down fast. That would make more sense to me :gaah:
