• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Lets discuss Windshields that make your passenger happy.

my wife and I went for our 1st interstate run this past weekend.
up till now we were doing in town riding to get into the comfort zone on how the Spyder rides and handles.
Living in Florida we normally ride with 1/2 helmets and our current windy is the "blue ridge".
well...at highway speeds the Wind Noise not the wind itself is excruciating for the passenger.
we switched spots and the wind noise for the passenger is unbearable.
we've thought about earplugs/ear muffs but that's a bandaid and not a solution.
on a cold day(which is rare) this wont be a problem as we would wear full face helmets.
the windshield is fine for the pilot and the blue ridge looks good and gives the Spyder a balanced look,IMO.
is there a windy that will help with the passenger and WONT make me look like I'm 90 years old?:dontknow:
to large of a windshield and I might as well take the darn car.
thanks,mark

BTW...I have the F3 idler wheel and neither of us felt any vibration at 75 mph:yes:

I have a Madstat on my F3. It is great and has a lot of adjustment.

do you have any experience riding 2 up as far as any input from the passenger??
are there different heights on the Madstad windys?
any pictures installed in the uppermost vertical position???as i think this might help move some air off of the passenger.

......but does it make you look 90 years old, Joe?:roflblack:

I have the same on my F3 Limited and while it makes me look about 100:D, I'm prepared to wear that because it works. I'm past caring about what people think or say about my rides as long as they work for me. There are a number of screens like F4 and Madstad (and others) that will work for you and your passenger, Mark, but the trouble is, they must be tall to have an effect......unless you can possibly find one with a lip......and even then......

It may be necessary to choose function over form. The 25" F4 provides great noise/wind protection for me and my passenger, but the F3 Limited has slightly different front end protection to the F3. Sorry, I know that doesn't give you a solution, but hopefully helps a little.

I didn't mean for that comment to be a negative as I'm no spring chicken myself.
its just that the BR windy looks and works fine for 1 person as we are both short.
its just riding 2 up for the passenger the wind noise is the issue.

Hahaha.....I certainly didn't read it as negative, Mark.....I was just having a bit of fun with it:thumbup: :ohyea:

I'm 43 y/o and have the 25" F4. While I could care less about what people think of me, when I put the 25" on, I was like, "whoa, that's a big windshield." While I certainly do not regret the purchase, I should have went with the 23". If you buy an F4, and I highly recommend them, make sure you watch their video on sizing before you buy.

Why don't you have your windy shaved down 2"?
