Suggest avoiding the expense of the oem electronic key. Have the DESS disabled and then use a standard key. If your frunk cable remains free and you like using the key to open it that is fine. If the cable has locked up, you should consider replacement or as others mentioned, add an aux latch release system and avoid using the key for anything more than running and stopping the engine.
