JT's Breather Mod

Have a look at a sweet breather installation started and completed today. J. T. Thornton's breather mod and great son-in-law's support through the process, not to mention one quick call to Doc Riverside, and now I'm sitting in my easy chair waiting on the chrome to arrive. As bad as I wanted to crank it up, I wouldn't because of having so much hanging loose on the Spyder due to my chroming project. The whole engine compartment is so open now. It's got to run cooler.
We took off the frunk (another suggestion from Doc Riverside) to facilitate the removal of the resonator and it made the removal so much easier. Initially, the thought of doing so caused some anxiety, but it went smoothly - not to mention giving us a whole new perspective on the Spyder.

Is yours not powdercoated?

All the ones I've seen including mine are blue. :dontknow:

JT air filter kit

The blue color was a dye applied after the aluminum part was anodized. No powder coating.

Anodic coatings can be dyed or left clear. The color choice is up to you when you bring parts into the anodizer. I assume JT decided not to spend the extra $ for the dye. It does not do anything to improve the life of the part, only cosmetic. Also some dyes are somewhat heat sensitive and may fad although I don't think this what happened here.

I thought my Spyder was going back together before the production run was to return from being anodized, so I coerced JT into letting me take the prototype that yours was made from.

Depends..!

I have the Hindle exhaust and the JT air filter system and run without fuel management system. Some pipes are more agressive than others...:thumbup:

That is the prototype and didn't get to go to the anodizer.
