• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Items to bring to Spyderfest, ADD to the list.

Cards

Those are old cards, but you might to wait until after you get to Spyderfest to know which Spyder color to put on the cards.

I was worried about the trip to Missouri...
The quality of bacon was going to be an issue. :banghead:
But I've finally found a solution: bring my own! :D

Oh Bob that's just awful. How could you? Poor Piggies. I might have to call the ASPCA. :joke:

Orrrr...
Bring old clothes, and throw them out as you get done with them. Re-Stock your wardrobe as needed.
Another option: mail the dirty laundry home!

Bob:

Tempting as it is to save all your old skivvies to use as disposable diapers to and from Spyderfest, I personally find that a part of the secret of all-day-comfort in the saddle is the best wicking/synthetic underwear I can find. Not to get overly graphic, but a pair of worn out droopy drawers just doesn't work all that well for more than about 20 minutes on even the best of aftermarket seats.

Two pair of fast-drying undershorts will do for any length trip, especially if the first thing you do upon arriving at the motel each evening is rinse and hang to dry that day's underwear; hung in front of the AC unit, they're dry before midnight, ready to pack or re-wear.

Anything that doesn't dry by morning can easily be slipped under a cargo net where it's exposed to the air and sun on the following day's ride; makes for good conversation starters at gas stops.

YMMV

After reading this thread I'm really leaning toward going. I'm booked for my hotel for SpyderQuest, but that is at the end of the summer. This will be my first full season piloting a Spyder and I'm looking forward to meeting new people. I'll even bring some Woodford Reserve and Rocky Patels!

I like what you pack ---- please come

If you decide on Spyderfest (and you should of course) let me know your room number. You sound like a conosour (sic) of fine whiskey and cigars.
:D

Hey Joe I think this guy is going to fit right in. I would like to nominate him as our head "bar keep"!

Booked my room at the Best Western last night. However no rooms available on the 27th - in case anyone else was still on the fence on booking. I know there will be other host hotels, but the lady said they were at about max capacity for the event. It will be good to meet many of you and I may even take a day to visit some friends in the area. I've spent many of days at Fort Lostinthewoods and I have not been back to my Alma Mater of Arkansas State University since I graduated almost 20 years ago.

This may put a damper on my plans for SpyderQuest, but I did not want to wait until September to hit my first event.
