• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Issues with screw - need solution

I have a problem with the screws on my bike. It's between a T15 and T20. It seems like the holes have stripped and I can't screw them any tighter or loosen them, either. Is there another tool out there that I can use? Does BRP have a special tool to use on these kind of screws correctly? these screws seems to strip very easily
 
heli coil, if they have them in the right size is what i would use. wedge something under them carefully to put pressure upward to turn them out.
 
Can use a allen wrench in some cases for torx. But since BRP likes to use thread locker have you used any heat to help remove the bolt. (Hair Dryer)

Couple of things since they look like they are still sticking out from the plastic. Small vise grips or a extractor with some heat.

Now I am guessing the torx head is stripped? Or are the threads not grabbing the bolt. Or are the threads trashed?
 
Seems he's describing a problem with the torx fitting in the head of the screw being stripped, not with the threads of the screw.

Jwill - Every fastener like that on a Spyder that I've ever come across from BRP is a Torx. And yes, there's no standard size between a T15 and T20. However, once they are stripped out, as mentioned above, you could possibly get a hex bit (Allen) to work. Remember that there are both English and Metric sizes for hex bits. I think you could MacGyver something up to fit tight enough to work for you. The thread locker they use is just a low grip type and won't need heat, unless somebody used some red on it, instead of blue, at some point along the line. Good Luck.
 
Blowing the picture up on my monitor it looks to me like the screw on the right is in fact an Allen head and I'll bet it's a 4 mm.
 

^^ Those are the bits I often use! :thumbup: Work well, just so long as your bit-driver has a bunch of low down torque! :lecturef_smilie:

Oh, and don't forget to use a soldering iron or something to add a bit of heat to the screw head first, just to encourage the massive over-kill amount of thread locker that's been used to actually let go!! :banghead:
