Would it be possible to get a few clear pictures of the parts (installed) so I can possibly help my friend with this solution? His grandson installed the kit so I have absolutely no knowledge of where/what to look for to attempt a re-tightening of the parts that seem to have been the culprit here.
The key to correctly tightening the bushing bolts is to fully collapse the slit at the point where the bolt passes through the bushing to where a slight dimple or bulge is created. This can both be seen and felt as the bushing is at the outer edge of the sway bar channel and is readily visible without removing anything.
When we have customers with a clunk send us pictures of the bushings, they invariably have a gap in the slit. Once correctly tightened, the clunk is forever banished.
