• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Is the Alternator shaft squeal just a nuisance, or is it damaging anything?

I wonder if BRP is simply going back to the original parts that did not have this problem. Seems like the easiest, tried and true solution.
From what we can read in the bulletin, they are not changing the whole shaft but rather changing the “alternator shaft friction washers”

OK, so here's an update after the TST was performed on my Spyder

Short story : The fix didn't work on my 2024 S2S ☹️

Long story : Got it back from the dealer on Friday (April 17) after they change the "Friction washers" and I had the chance to talk with the mechanic and I was shown the used 2 pieces they were worn out !! (Parts #7 in the drawing in post #7 of this thread),

Anyway, brought it back home, got to start it twice on Friday and all was good. The next day, it started without the noise and drove it for about 90 miles (150 km) and after lunch, the noise came back upon starting just a little bit for 2-3 seconds. Stopped for gaz a few moments later, and when I started it back, the noise was there in full blown energy like before ... after only about 5 starts and 90 miles !!

Stop by the dealer today and let them know, they will reach out to BRP to see what can be done from there.
