is BRP Connect app compulsory to use the phone in F3?

I wonder if to use the phone on my 2018 F3 Ltd I need the BRP Connect app.
The idea is to synchronize it to the Spyder just like the pilot's helmet and handle the calls and I don't see anything in the BRP Connect app that refers to the phone except in the configuration, permissions, phone, where I read: "read phone status and identity "

You do NOT need the BuRP Connect app for BT phone/bike/helmet use. I had my phone BT'ed to the bike and the bike BT'ed to my lid. Works fine that way. The only time you need the BuRP Connect app/stuff is if you want to use those specific apps. YMMV trying to use those apps/Connect.
