• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Ipod on RTS Question....

Thinking about getting an Ipod for my RT. Does it matter if it's a regular Ipod touch, or can you use a nano model? If the nano works, will it work with the factory audio and display the play lists and let you scroll through the playlists from the hand controls?

Thanks for any help/suggestions....

I have used the regular and the nano with no problems , not sure on playlist issues since don't use them

The Nano Gen 5 was what was supplied with the Premiere Edition RTS, so that works great. The playlists can be accessed and changed, but it is a bit tricky, as I recall. Changing the songs is easier.

I've used a 5th &
6th gen Nano + 5th gen big one and they are (for me ) have all worked great. I personally like my own music better than any thing on the airwaves and it's almost free(after a small capital investment of the Ipod)

I use a nano and clip it directly onto the wiring harness so it isn't banging around inside the the cargo area. Yeah, you can play your music, but the spyders support of the iPod is woefully limited. You can't even pause the music. Back and forward is about it. I find it easier to choose the playlist directly on the iPod and start playing it, then plug it into the harness.

Well that still "sounds" better than what's usually out there on the airwaves! :2thumbs: I'll gladly take a playlist of my type of noise and deal with hitting a "next" button only in order to move through it...
