Into vicarious mode

We're very close to winter here in the Great White North and I'll be putting my Spyder into hibernation this weekend 'til April or maybe even May.

So I'll be living vicarously through everyone's postings who will still be ryding 'til I'm back in the saddle so ryde on! And keep those posts coming.

This has been a great ryding season for me since I got my Spyder in June and I can't wait until next season.

Maybe you should let your Spyder winter here in NM and visit it every so often. We only have a few weeks where riding is "not so good". And usually, those are not strung together.

Rod, from your postings, it looked like you had some great rides.

Also, if I remember correctly, you mounted the BRP Touring Windshield on your Spyder with the RoboBrackets . . . . are you still loving yours as much as I love mine?

Mine will be out in April for sure, but I have a vehicle with skis and a track to keep me entertained December - March.

I try to ryde year round. My rules are: no snow or salt on the roads. Last year was OK except for January when I didn't get to ryde all month.

Being a web footed Wet Coaster, I insure my Spyder year round, and it's the rare month that I dont ride. I used to live on the praries (Calgary) so I know your problem. Some unkind BC riders say that the Canadian winter is beyond Hope. (Hope BC is the last coastal town before the Trans Canada Highway enters the mountains). But cheer up, Rod. I hear BRP makes snowmobiles too, eh?

I winterized here in Houston too: got my full gloves from the closet and put the liner in my riding mesh jacket.

If I can ride when it's 28, you guys aught to be able to go the entire year round.

Same here. Will soon roll Spyder into celler for winter mod mode. I can tear it apart and not worry about putting it together until spring.

Yes, the RoboBracket delivers as promised. I was originally thinking the 23" BRP screen would shake in the wind under speed but it isn't an issue.

Been there, done that (for work, though, as an exploration geologist). Which is why I'm living vicariously now .... ;-)

I'd consider ryding year-round except that we typically see -20C to -40C in what we put up for winter 'round here. It builds character. But doesn't make for good ryding conditions.

I've got electric gloves that help a little, but I've a circulatory issue that is a limiting factor. Only 6 or 7 months 'til summer.
