• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Internet Searches on Spyderlovers not working - is this because of the Platform change?

I noticed that most of the spyderlovers.com references on the internet don't work. Is that because of the switch to website?

^ That is very likely if you are using a 'saved search' or trying to open the Forum using a 'favourite' or 'bookmarked' link to the old site. You really need to get rid of anything related to the old site, including cookies, history, bookmarks, saved favourites, etc, et al, and update/replace them with similar links, only to the new site instead of the old.

We did have a short term issue with the Search facility a day or two back that, for a few hours only, returned that same 'Oops...' Message, but that's a stock message on this platform for issues of that type. And that particular Search issue was resolved very quickly once Anthony was notified (Thanks Anthony! (y)) so if you are getting that same message now (or prior), it's likely to you using 'old platform addresses' in your search - and as mentioned, they won't work, you need to replace/update them.

Why is it that whenever I do a search on the interwebs for Spyders and click on a topic that's shown on the internet search it says this:

View attachment 211814

Any ideas?
Where did you get that link from?

That link would never work on the old site.

This would of been the proper url for that attachment in the old site, that attachment id is invlaid.
Code:
spyderlovers.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=211814

This is a valid id for an attachment the url will get rewritten if you click the link below.

Looking at the current attachment id's 211814 & 211815 where images that got deleted or removed.

Might not be able to with a phone, but with a laptop or desktop box, you can just go to another tab on the browser and run the search. The results will also include the content currently on the web from this forum if there is anything relevant. Read down the list of what the search turns up and maybe some of it is on this forum.
