• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Instrument Cluster film issue

We traveled to Canada the other day, sat on the Lewiston bridge for over an hour (temp @85 degrees F). I noticed a film covering the inside of the odometer top left by the time we ended up at our daughters in St Catharine's, Ontario the film covered one quarter of my dial. The unit is completely house as one, wondering is this defect covered under any kind of warranty, anyone else experience this. It seems to be glue / film of some sort running ,only option would be a replacement, bike purchased new in September 2012. Thanks in advance for any suggestions anyone has to this issue.

Maybe your Spyder is crying and wants to stay in Canada where it was born.

It is likely covered by warranty...runs and stains inside the "glass" are. Your dealer may dismantle the cluster and clean the lens, or he may replace the cluster. Record your mileage when you drop it off, in case the cluster is replaced. New clusters revert to zero miles.

Have to agree..!!

It will be a warranty repair. Scotty is right in that they will likely change the cluster and they have no way to set the odometer. Keep your mileage noted. Good luck..!!

Cluster issue

Taking a ride to my dealer tomorrow morning wish me luck, hopefully they will take care of this -- will keep you posted. Thanks for your replies.

Update

I contacted my dealer several weeks ago, tech ordered a new dash cluster and would call me when it arrived for replacement. I received a call and made appointment. Last week Spyder in shop, what BRP and Dealer believed happened due to existing weather conditions that day, running long idle, excessive heat, moisture entered the dash housing from the engine compartment causing a film to cover parts of my dash cluster. Tech cleaned the clear plastic housing covering dash, it did help but plastic piece seemed to still have a light film on it. Tech ordered a new plastic housing cover (Instrument cluster works, plastic housing the issue, per tech) it arrived yesterday, appointment made for installation this Saturday. I feel fortunate my dealer and techs work with you and not against making for a good relationship all around. I will give an update after Saturdays appointment.
