There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. Hey Folks,

Thought I would pass this along and I am very please with my recent purchase and installation of a Scorpio SR-i800 security system. As such I thought I would provide some details.

http://www.scorpioalarms.com/products/motorcycle/sr-i800/

The Scorpio SR-i800 security system features the convenience of RFID technology allowing for hands free operation by utilizing Radio Frequency Identification Technology (RFID). (Mole Note: This is way cool as I just put the one button RFID remote in my jacket and then walk away and the alarm activates automatically. Then you come back and RFID remote is sensed and the alarm disengages. The remote also has a button to manually turn off/on the alarm for say when you park in the garage.)

It offers a variety of features including an integrated accelerometer, waterproof remote, our three stage perimeter sensor, and the battery back up and a built-in 120 dB siren. The SR-i800 is equipped with expansion capabilities for the remote anti-hijack ignition disable and is compatible with all of our factory style connector kits.
Additional features
· Ultra low power drain main control module (MCM)
· Battery safeguard with "sleep mode"
· Flashes signal lights
· Remote panic feature
· Soft chip arming
· Flash input for diagnostics and possible future upgrades
· Programmable overide code to disarm alarm
The new SR-i800 is the perfect combination of technology, simplicity and efficiency. The kit comes with a remote transceiver, a MCM (main control module), the RFID antenna, the built in battery back up, our three stage perimeter sensor, a generic installation kit (GEN-1), and accessory harness (ACC-1), and the main harness (HAR-1). (Mole Note: The company also provides a specific HAR 1 harness for the Spyder. I connects to the tail light and rear blinker connectors. It installed my i800 under the rear cowling next to the battery box. This location was perfect as I could route the RFID sensor and the proximity sensor under the seat.)

I will post photos of the install later.

Again I highly recommend the i800 and thus far am pleased with its performance.

The Scorpio alarms are great. I love the pager function when the alarm goes off. Plus it is really loud.

Mole: I bought the same system, and it looks like I installed it like you did with yours.

I am not quite satisfied about its functioning, but your pictures will be a great help to make it work correctly.

I installed the perimeter sensor under the "Y" tupperware, on the center frame member, and the antenna on top of the black plastic that covers the gas tank (right side). Even peeled off the end of it as the instructions called for.

Bought and installed the harness for the Spyder.

Not sure if the system is working properly, as I have had a hard time fiddling with it, and finally gave up and disconnected it.

I was unaware that you don't need to press the remote button to arm / dis-arm it.
:dontknow:

As far as I know, I have followed their instructions to program the remote.

Your advise and pictures will be appreciated.

Thanks in advance, Pilo

I was looking into buying this alarm system. Does the proximity sensors work good.. I mean how close can aomeone get to the Spyder before they go off?

I just bought an i800, did you guys tap the existing wires to connect to the ignition or use the Can-Am wiring harness that you can buy from Scorpio

I have the same system but have not installed it yet on the RT was hopping that they would make a harness for the RT. Anyone install this system on the RT how did you wire it up.

I have the Scorpio I900. At the time I purchased it a month ago they still didn't have a cable harness for the RT. The perimeter sensor was too sensitive at its default setting. I didn't want it going off if someone just walked by it but only if someone got close enough to touch something. I ended up setting the adjustment just slightly off the least sensitive setting. This setting has worked out well so far. The sensor is under the seat toward the front. This system works very well and keeps the kiddies away while the :spyder2: is waiting for me in public parking lots.

I wired in my Scorpio I900 to the tail and turning signal connectors located just above the rear tail light assemblies. You will need to access the connectors on both sides. The one on the left will be for the left turn signal connection and the one on the right for the tail light and right turn signal. I found it much easier to access the connectors by removing the rear tail light assemblies.

The left turn signal wire is the Grey/Pink wire position #1 in 5 pin connector on the left side. The right turn signal is the Brown/Yellow wire in position #1 on the 5 pin connector on the right side. The tail light is the orange wire in position #2 on the right side connector.

I used posi-tap connectors so no wires were cut. Made for a quicker install.

I got the following from Scorpio.

Thank you very much for your inquiry

We do not yet have an OEM connector kit for the Spyder RT.

All of our systems do come with a universal connector harness that will work
great for your 2010 RT. There will be no wire cutting necessary with our
universal harness. The harness comes with t-taps to tap in to your license
plate light and turn signals. One wire will go straight to your battery
positive and another will go straight to the battery negative as well. It is
a very easy installation even without the plug and play connector.

You can connect the positive and negative wires directly to your battery but
you will still need to connect the 12V switch power wire (orange wire) to
your tail light power or license plate light power wire. You can definitely
leave the turn signal wires (grey wires) disconnected if you do not want to
use them

I do hope this info helps, please let me know if you have any other
questions at all.

Thank you

So now I have to find the wires to I can do the install.

Anybody can tell me where to find the wires?
What do I need to remove?

Thanks

I had a Talon installed--- rarely used it and finally just yanked it from the bike.

Someone had a perimeter alarm on their bike in Cuba that provided some late-night entertainment in the parking lot---:roflblack:. Seemed to me that people 'messed' with the bike MORE because of the alarm-- not less.

I've resigned to the fact that if someone wants to steal or mess with my bike-- they're gonna do it--- and my insurance will take care of me.
