There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. Infant helmet

Yesterday I saw a guy with his son on his bike. Kid looked about two and was riding IN FRONT of the father. This guy is a friggin' eejit!!!

OOOOO BOY

here we go again ...the last time someone asked this (sorry to say)stupid question there was like 300 post ripping the guy apart ...do yourself and lamonts bandwith a favor and delete this post ......

:mad::mad:
This video is about the only thing I would even consider for a little kid.

Let me ask you a question didn't we once have this conversation a few months back?
Correct me if I'm wrong.
The person who considered the same thing was reemed a new muffler, I would strongly advise against your plans to go onto the streets with your child.
Like others stated the little ones neck muscles are too weak to bare the weight of a motorcycle helmet...nojoke

I think it was someone looking to put a child car seat on the bike. Easy y'all it was just an idear. I was going to look into the rules and regs of the road. I just don't see the big difference between being strapped to me and being in a car seat both with a 5 point harness. His car seat doesn't really have much there to stop his head from going side to side. Just backwards as my chest would prevent that, the only difference is that his seat id reclined a bit. Don't worry i'm gonna wait but it didn't seem that bad.

Do you ever watch your baby and notice how it kinda bobbles around and overshoots head movement up/down, left right and has to correct. It's still developing. Your not taking into consideration the weight and momentum of the helmet. Your going to give that poor kid whiplash or spinal compression of worse yet...internal decapitation. Dale Earnhardt died from this in his crash. I hope we have persuaded you not to pursue this. I know how excited a parent can get wanting to share their hobbies with the children, but for now all this baby needs to ride is a crib and stroller/big wheels.

Do you love your child? This shouldn't even be a thought

Of course but that has nothing to do with it, its a matter of being a first time bike rider and getting educated. I'm not the first and only one to question this. He enjoys things with wheels and loves riding in his toy cars, what should I not let him have his own toys on a what if case?

Are you for real? Maybe you should be the one not on a bike!

Let's set the facts straight...a five point harness in a vehicle with airbags and a cage is NOT the same as being wide open on a bike...period...

What are you, an airbag? If you go flying through the air, you are going to crush your child...great idea Einstein...

As far as a car seat goes, it offers far more stability than your belly does!

Dude, where the heck are you coming from on this topic?

If you love your child, you won't put him on a bike! Thank goodness, as others have pointed out, it's illegal to do so most everywhere...I guess there really are people out there who would jeopardize the life of their infant/toddler in such an obvious fashion.

We truely see eye to eye on this one - Bone Crusher. To even consider putting an infant on a motorcycle makes you wonder if they are mature enough to ryde one themselves. :yikes:

.
C'mon... you guys can do better than this... tell him why it's a bad idea without calling him names and being obnoxious.

Tweeder... it's a bad idea. A child tied to you would also be crushed by you in an accident. A car seat in 4,000 pounds of car is a lot different than a car seat on an open, exposed 700 pound motorcycle.

Rule of thumb... if the child cannot reach the footpegs and hold on to you on his/her own, the child is too young to be riding.

See... that wasn't hard.

Sorry for the grumps, tweeder. They must have gotten up on the wrong side of the bed this morning. :dontknow:

Thats ok I got tough skin, after all it was an enquiry not a braging statement. There is alot that I wasn't aware of but now I know, as I was going on what I seen another rider do.

Good, in that case, report them to the local authorities...it's likely illegal and you could be saving a life...

You have gotten many replies, I hope you take all of the advice. I have a 10 year old, and no way, am I taking him, experience or not!!! A 1 year old, no way, not a good idea!!! Don't even consider that!! Their neck and back muscles aren't developed enough to support their own weight. It would be a distraction to you and dangerous for your child. First thing that comes to mind considering your idea is child endangerment. You want advice ask your Pediatrician!!!:(

Theres always the front storage compartment, drill some vent holes, and line it with blankets, LOL I wouldnt dream of having a 1 yr old on a bike. LOL

BY THE WAY I AM ONLY JOKING I DO NOT AGREE TO PLACING INFANTS IN STORAGE AREAS SO BEFORE ALL THE IM's PLEASE READ MY ENTIRE POST.

Ya know, I would like to see some type of something developed to put a dog in....my dog loves my convertible...guess it's hard to have a sidecar on a Spyder, but gosh it'd be nice to have something...

I see nothing wrong with it myself.

I see nothing wrong with it myself. If you are just doing a little ride around the block. My concern would be more with the element effecting a baby more than anything. A Little to much sun, wind, shake, and slapping bugs.
I say what the hell.
