• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Hi all,

I got my 2018 spyder rt delivered yesterday. Bike is new to me.

There's not a hole in the key to add it to the key ring. I see some keys online do have a hole in it.

Can i drill a little hole to add it to my key ring?

Thanks,

John

Many options on key issues. Use the sight search caution on just drilling a hole the transponder chip embedded in keys is super fragile nick it & is toast:banghead: Couple vendors have clamp on case with hole for ring. Sure will chime in soon.

I wouldn’t do that! The key has a chip in it, if it were damaged you would need a new key ($25) and have to have it programmed ($100). The dealer needs the bike to do that. I used a split ring and slid it on to the top of the key, it’s worked well for me. I have the same bike. The dealer only gave me one key (after we signed papers), when I asked if there was another key I was told I would have to buy it. It took a poor review on their website before they agreed to give me one. I tried to post a picture but I couldn’t figure out how to do it.

there are alot of "clamps" that attach over the "head" of the key. amazon / ebay ,etc .different colors and styles

These covers have gone up since I bought them but they are really nice and have colors to match most of our bikes

Watch the LaMonster video and drill the key.
Worked for me on 2 different Spyders.
