"IF" BRP comes out with a Touring Spyder...

Once I get handlebars that I can reach from my perch on the rear of the seat, I think I'll be set for a couple of years. I don't need anything else. Well, maybe some floorboards. But that's all. I really don't need much. And, some hard bags would be nice, and maybe a windshield, but I'm really satisfied with what I have. Well, a trailer hitch and trailer for my dog, and perhaps an ashtray for the cigar butts, but I don't really see myself needing much in life.

"IF" BRP does more work to acknowledge the problems with the current models without making some condescending remark insinuating that the fault lies with consumers that have made slight modifications, I will consider buying another BRP product. I don't expect anything to be perfect, especially during the first year of production, but I do appreciate a business that can tell you honestly that they are working to correct problems. I expect them to do this without rediculous statements displacing blame. Maybe I'm expecting a lot, but through my studies of other business models, honesty and transparency seem to be a recipe for success.

Having ranted about this, I am still happy with my spyder and if I knew the newer models would perform consistently as good as mine in particular, I'd buy a newer one. However, it would not be right away. I identify with those that cannot justify buying a new one with their current machine only being roughly a year old.

Mine just were I want it alot into it now.
And is running ok but still acting like a Spastic Rabbitt after steering upgrade.

I agree with BumbleBee..... half the fun is putting what you want on
the :f_spider: sure it can be a bit expensive but I'm sure the touring model
would be also. I'm keeping mine and putting what I want on it when
I want(translation..when I can afford a new accessory):clap:

ESI has so much good stuff...start small and build...go with one lighting package per month or two...you can't go wrong...sell the wife on the safety element...they really do make your bike more noticeable on the road and this is very, very important...

I'm working on the safety issue for sure! Plus they just look way kool! I've seen the specials he has on kits once and awhile so I will work on that when I see them again. Even though I am happy with my spyder I am really excited to see what the new on is all about. BRP makes some cool stuff imo.

I suspect BRP may be targeting the pre/post retired folks who want to do something instead of clicking the remote. Harley has a zillion different models, why can't we have 2. I haven't done much in mods other than the seat, backrest, and 12 V plug in. I'm expecting a Corbin rear trunk any day. I'm inclined to say no unless its a real zinger then maybe. At one time the :spyder2: I have now was just a fantasy. I like fantasy's.

I like some of the ideas floating around--- but I personally think we're in for some disappointments. I bet they don't change the engine, gearing, nanny, etc. I think 90% of the changes will be cosmetic and catered towards touring.


The blue they used in the marketing photo was really sharp!

Also hope they don't over-price it.....

I'm torn.... I also have the fantasy of hitting 100k before upgrading, but my knees may not last that long. I often just rest both legs straight out over the panels... but if the new model is anything like the leaked shots.....

Sorry, but even if its twice the price, I may jump right in.

I would be keeping mine.. However the price point seems to be mid 20's..for those folks interested.

that would spell good news for the used market and what those spyders already out there would bring in residual value.

Anyone here think they'll come out with a smaller spyder? Perhaps have a 650cc engine so as to get better mileage?

I know we would like to think of a beefier, faster Spyder...but with the economy and such, perhaps an $11k Spyder would be a better call for them...or better yet, a $25k and an $11k Spyder...
