"IF" BRP comes out with a Touring Spyder...

No...

It's like car models to me...every year car manufacturers change and tweak things...and every several years there is a major change...so be it...

If you like what you have, there's no need to change...but, then again, some like to have the latest and greatest of everything...

I'm happy and excited with my still relatively new and neat 2008 Spyder...with all the mods. I have on it and still plan to put on it, I'm more than good to go.

I am excited to see the new bike(s) though...more importantly, I hope they fix what they have on the market now...there are more than enough spyderlovers who are having problems and should have those properly addressed!

I am very happy with my current Spyder. If I had no Spyder now it would be a tempting choice though.

I am pretty sure . . . . .

. . . . I wouldn't. If it has different different gearing, that would be a big plus for me.

But I am not a fan of the results of: Recreation Room + Storage Bin + Lazy Boy + Sharper Image . When I saw the movie Wall-E and the scene of the passengers came on, I thought; " like Goldwings without the wheels ". Not for me, I am more a Sport/Tourer. I ride to get away from my stuff, to experience the world outside the comfort of my home.

I am thinking that there may be some new features or enhancements that will be very nice, there always are, but I am so satisfied with my Spyder, I doubt I will want or feel compelled to move to a different model.

Nope. I pretty much have a tourer now with all the mods we put on. It was too much fun doing the accessorizing ourselves! I'm thrilled with what I have.

Keeping mine 4 sure, I love it as is. Trying to get the wife to "let" me get No Magic ESI gear, that I want so badly is hard enuff! Let alone trading in for another payment! Unless that lotto thing works out!

Kaiser,

ESI has so much good stuff...start small and build...go with one lighting package per month or two...you can't go wrong...sell the wife on the safety element...they really do make your bike more noticeable on the road and this is very, very important...

Had my wife for 38 years, my 1988 Sea Doo for 22 and some of my underwear for about that long. I tend to keep what I like even if new and better comes along. I like my Spyder. :D

It will be my first Spyder, if it is done up right.

I will be in DC to test drive next week. I am not a Spyder dealer but I sell Sea-Doo PWC's and Boats and we will all be at the same meeting...

Can't wait to see what they have come up with.

welcome Glad to have you aboard!!

I'll be keeping mine. Not the type of person that 'wheels and deals' for each new item that comes down the pipe (married for 54 yrs -- I tend to keep stuff including a wife for a while !!). But I hope there is someone that does trade for the latest and I'll be in line to purchase their Spider (for wife). Color is not a problem; my body shop buddy will take care of that.

But it is interesting to see what actually does come out in 2010 for our machines. Heck, maybe an item that is new that will fit our '08-'09 model bikes??

I have demo'd and lurked here for months.I am waiting for the R/T and would have walked to a HD trike conversion by now(currently riding a beautiful 2007 Ultra with the works)..Beright and TRM summed it up for me.I hope the most flagrant issues will be fixed and gearing as well as gear will be addressed. The Spyder format is just what most ol'folks want even more than a trike.

It is affordable, spirited and much safer than a trike or bike.Rider
position, buffeting and nanny sensitivity should be fixed and fixed before the end user has to deal with them.I really want Spyder to succeed and the sales potential is enormous,(maybe 50% of all motorcycle sales).

Hope to meet some of you at the dealer show.

ride safe and ride often,
Terry

I'll be keeping mine for a while. Once this one is due for replacement, probably. But with all the money invested and modification it would be stupid since my spyder is now a touring bike.

But hey, that doesn't mean I'm not intreigued and interested to see what BRP has up it's sleeve.
:agree: My thoughts exactly. I am waiting with bated breath to see what BRP has done, but I am happy with the way I have my Spyder outfitted for touring duties already.

Bruce

Only if it has a significantly larger engine with significantly more power... that's NOT offset by significantly more weight.

.

I plan to keep mine and just add the upgrades to make it more tour friendly. The cost for the new touring spyder may be more than I can afford at the moment. I guess I will have to wait and see what BRP comes out with to make an honest opinion. I've owned a couple new snowmobiles, including the one's that I bought for my two kids and like what BRP has done with sleds. They now have some nice 4 stoke high performance sport sleds as well as very nice touring models with all the comfort features for two up riding. I think that the new spyder R/T will be a nice machine, but it will not be cheap. I guess we will have to wait and see.

I like some of the ideas floating around--- but I personally think we're in for some disappointments. I bet they don't change the engine, gearing, nanny, etc. I think 90% of the changes will be cosmetic and catered towards touring.

The blue they used in the marketing photo was really sharp!

Also hope they don't over-price it.....

Anything is possible, but I have a 2009 with some serious money in mods. I almost have a tourer now with all the changes made. I use it as a touring machine.

I will be interested to see what BRP does with cruise control, floor boards, and a few other items. If possible, I will buy the parts and retrofit them to my Spyder. More importantly, I want to know what BRP is doing about the problems some of us have now. I would not want to buy a new Spyder only to have the same old issues. They have made some progress. My 2009 Spyder does not have some of the annoyances that my 2008 Spyder had.

BRP must solve the problem of the fires before I will buy another Spyder.

Nevertheless, I hope BRP hits one out of the ballpark with the new model.

Nope my source told me MSRP is gone to be 25K
Mine just were I want it alot into it now.
And is running ok but still acting like a Spastic Rabbitt after steering upgrade.
If it was available from the get go probaly would have since I'm a Dresser kind of guy :ani29:

Got mine set up pretty much exactly how I want it. I'm going to ride it til the wheels fall off.
