There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. This morning I was washing my Spyder at the car wash getting her ready for Spyders in the Adirondacks. The car wash guy (he was maybe in his early twenty's) came over and was waiting by my wash bay for me to finish up.

He said " Can you do a wheelie ? "
I replied with our usual comment: "Only in reverse"
He said: "My cousin in S. Carolina can, I seen him do it last month.
I said: "Bull :cus: "
He said: "Yes he did. He stood on the passengers seat and as he hit
the gas, he threw his wieght down hard like you do on
the back of a snowmobile or a four wheeler."
I said: " Bull :cus:"
He said: " I swear on my mothers grave !"
I said: " Well thats cool, maybe I'll try it one day." And left.

I know I don't have the stones to try it, but has anyone else ?? Is this even possible, or is this kid going to hell for swearing on his mom ??? :dontknow:

I have given it gas over a speed bump and about 2 inches on one wheel is all I got before the nanny caught me. I say no way unless he turned off the nanny.

It can be done, I did it quite a few times!!..

Oh Wait that was on my Honda Big red ATC. Maybe car wash guy confused the two, All that hot soapy water and all,
Not to mention the left handed cigarette he was smoking.:ohyea::ohyea:

Well it might just be me...
But I think he's as full of :cus: as a Christmas Turkey!
Too long of a wheelbase with too much mass up front!
I pity this guy's poor Mom... :gaah:

Wheelie....!!

Who the hell would want to subject such a beautiful machine to such potential damage.
Must admit, though, it could make a great subject for Photo Shop.

I think ill call BS to . I have given the gas a fairly good romp off the line and the front end lifted enough for the suspension to do its job LOL .Unless the guys cousin is like 400 lbs solid muscle adn hes supercharged and spraying his spyder .But id like to see it !

You should have asked him if his cousin had risers installed.

Because if not, we know he's lying, because without them I can barely reach the handlebars sitting in the front seat, let alone from standing on the back seat.

:2thumbs:

I believe in "never say never". There is always someone that can do the "impossible".

I sure don't have the brass to try that, and I would definately not subject my :spyder2: to that potential abuse.

I guess the proof will be in the video.:popcorn:

>>>or is this kid going to hell for swearing on his mom ??? :dontknow:<<<

He's going to hell or maybe..... there were some good substances involved.:yikes:

I would imagine it is possible, Riding sleds it's fairly easy to get the skis off the ground with proper clutching and enough power. I can say that coming down the brook road last week while racing with a motorcycle the spyder actually went airborne off a bridge on a S curve. I juiced it to catch him and apparently there's a slight knoll on the back side. Must have hit it at the right time. Freaked me out a little bit as we were doing about 60 and it was totally unexpected. When she touched down she wiggled and the nanny kicked in instantly. The front wheels came up first then the rear came off for a brief moment. Don't think I'll do that again.:yikes:

Just may be his cousin is his brother that BIG RED 1 went to school with in the third grade. Apparently he's a little older and not wiser!!

...Different animal and different chassis dynamics coming into play with a sled... The front torque arms actually attach to the chassis just about under your knees. The huge track CAN allow for better traction off the line, and the front ends weigh much less!
Never mind the overall weight reduction of a couple of hundred pounds...
(Played with sleds for over 40 years...):D

So what? The track has potential blowout depending on the surface running on. Dry hot tar with a big fat tire is a totally different thing. I'm not saying the guy was telling the truth. I'm merely suggesting it might be possible with the correct weight transfer. Hard to believe but hey, weirder things have been done before. It comes down to getting the rear tire to stick and weight transfer. Front torque(trailing) arms are old style(40 years:roflblack:). Most cutting edge machines are all using double wishbone now.

I knew this kid at the car wash was full of it.

Bob, did you have the old school sleds where the carburator was at your stomach sucking your jacket into it ??? :roflblack::roflblack: Ahhhhhh the good ol days. Both my sleds have reverse, heated hand grips and one of the sleds below has 9500 miles on her and still going strong. But there Arctic Cat's so I would not expect anything less :roflblack:

Yup... Started out with them and had the times of my life on them!
(Did you ever try and adjust the high speed jet on a Tillotsen HD while holding it wide open across a field??? :yikes: You're trying to look at too many things at once and keep a screwdriver embedded while running flat out...35mph... across a bumpy field!):D
Never had reverse or electric start in any of my machines; too cheap to pay for that sissy stuff!:roflblack:

Arctic Cat...:cus: They killed Scorpion! :gaah:
