There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. Today I spent 8 hrs ryding and reallllly want to travel all of the US..maybe Canada & Nova Scotia also. I have no issues going alone, but thought there just may be another Spyderlover that has a similar desire...double, triple the fun....
I envision like 6-8 weeks at a time....heck 3 or 4 months!!! My as well just sell the home place and become a nomad!!!
Nope, I'm open to consider all options. Thought we could also combine it with the Spyderweb America that Lamont is putting together...

That is my dream, sell everything and do a combination coast to coast trip with alot of stops in between on the Spyder and then pull the camper to different locations around the states and take time to explore around every location that we stop at. I would plan on doing some odd jobs while doing the camping thing. Only seven more years before I can retire:gaah:

And I can see you doing it too. I would love to join you but I haven't earned my right to be free quite yet. I hope you find some takers. When you get to MI, let me know, we can put you up here and show you around our area a little bit.

We've got our house for sale and if it sells before I change my mind we will buy a big toy hauler fifth wheel and hit the road. Spend a few months here and a few months there. Wherever the weather and riding is best is where we will be.

I'd really love to do something like that. We are retired but, somehow, other obligations just keep coming up. Maybe one of these days. Anyway, hope you get to make your trip and enjoy the heck out of it.

I had this dream once.
One big trip to nowhere.
I was discussing it with another spyder Ryder and I thought it was a solo run but he thought it can be done with multiple ryders.

I'll second that
If you get to Fl We have an extra bedroom your welcome to stay in while you visit some of the Huligans. We would love to come along but unfortunately we have a few more years before we can.

Well....my husband and I have been to all 48 states twice and need 6 more for 3 times around..2 up...now that I have my own:spyder2:we are riding all states again....in the last year, June 2010, I have 26 states......getting ready for a trip will get a few more.....next year we plan to do the western states and alaska...will do the ferry thing, just like Yazz......I need to talk with her.......we have always traveled alone.....now ... MurphyBrown it is a reasonable goal...1st time it took 3 years...(two 3 week and one 2 week vacation)...now that we are retired we can go when ever and stay where ever.....but stuff always gets in the way...GO FOR IT!!!!!!!...when you get to Texas.....you got a place to lay your head .....

I'M DOING IT

OK just read these replies and I am soooo committed to doing this. Yes, I believe that it can be with multiple ryders. BUT, no matter, I am doing it. So this winter (as I pass thru the garage and pat Ms Spyder on her nose) I will be plotting and planning. Already started a list of you fine folks with open door welcomes.
Well, for now, getting excited about next Fri departure thru central OR down thru Napa Valley area in CA (gonna get that Lamonster cut Corbin) then back up 1 to meet/greet at Spyders in Redwoods...will continue up 1 after that...oh yea, have see a road that makes a loop from Eureka...might have to follow that one!!!!
Hmmmm me thinks Hawaii may not be on my "must do on Ms Spyder" list.:yikes::roflblack:

MurphyBrown, this is such a great idea! Maybe you could ride solo sometimes, and meet up with ryders along the way?

Say for instance if you came to Texas... a group of us could take you up to Fredricksburg in the hill country and show off our neck of the woods. Or take a longer trip down to Big Bend. There's some awesome sights down there.

I'm sure there are SpyderLovers in almost every state who would love to show you their part of the country.

We have a bedroom with sitting area and bath that you can stretch out in. We're near Raleigh NC. Maybe other NC riders could gather for a ride with you. :welcome:

I dream of the day when I can do this. Last year being laid off was a blessing in many ways. I was able to take three long trips.

I will say this however... *and maybe it is just me. I tend to get burned out on riding day after day. It is good to plan a few days here or there with friends or family or even pit stop at home.

Two of my longest trips - on my return leg home I had planned on taking a few more days.... and each time, and at some magical point in time during my riding day... I just came to the the conclusion "I'm done riding, I'm going home", so I'd point the nose more directly home and boogie. I don't know if it was missing the homestead, etc... but that is the way I get after 3 weeks on the road with my Spyder.

What a great plan to have...
The idea of a "Murphy Run" could be a great way to meet lots of us around the Country! If we know that you'll be cruising through nearby, a swarm of Spyders can give you the 50 cent tour of the best roads, scenery and eateries. :ohyea:

To bad we live on opposite ends of the country:(. I'll be attending Spyders in the Adirondacks(7/28-7/31) then off to Naples, Maine then to Amesbury, Massachusetts and return to Ohio on or about Aug. 5. After that I am heading to Bonneville(leaving 8/20 or so) to help Doc Doru and Seth O. That's on the 8/27 and 8/28. then back to Ohio. Maybe we can see you in Bonneville.

Wish I could join you.
The best I have is the same others have offerred, just a tour of my neck of the woods.
But damn I'm jealous.

were here in ottawa kansas about 35 miles south of kansas city,on i35.you can stay with us as long as you want any time.:2thumbs::D:chat:
