• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

I might be on engine 3

Where and from who do you buy your fuel from?

Al kindA, I got gas from about 10 different states on this engine rebuild and the juice box lie says its the leanest setting, its just a bunch of lights that do not do much at all.

plus it ran until they took it apart so I am sure that is a ton of unburned oil that was getting pushed in there.

Thanks for the pic's, i was wondering when you said the piston ring came out and got on top of the piston, thinking , how the hell did that happen?, looks like it was about to have a meltdown. That nickasil lining must be pretty tough if they were considering using the old jug. Good luck with the new one!

it cost me a extra week because the lining was jacked so they ordered a new cylinder and the other piston melted (last year in florida) on the very back of the back piston and the rest of it blew thru the motor, this time it all went out the exhaust ports.

the value and cam adjustment was fine so it was not a issue they were ok but replaced.

Phew!!! OK... That makes since... Thank you!

you lose me sometimes, are you being serious or indirectly be sarcastic? I just want to make sure, I am glad you brought it up because it does make sense that the oil I ran thru the engine build up and that was partly sealing the motor so we thought (the wrench and I) that it was not blown up.

:opps::opps::opps: No sarcasm in any way... seems I need to work on my 3D text :roflblack: (Being funny). Sorry to leave you with a question in your mind like that. I have torn down more than a few engines for various reasons. At a time I could reassemble a small block 350 blind folded (Not torqued just assembled) because I was trying my own hand at looking for performance improvements for off-road Jeeps, and racing before that... Did I mention I blew up my fair share and all the part stores knew me by name :roflblack::gaah:

it happens, just need some better pistons in the RS I guess, rain and snow this morning coming home but it was 30 ish so it was still shorts weather for me, if ya can't feel your legs it does not matter as much the temp out.

I should have flipped the pics for sure.

So how does she feel, Seth? Or have you even put enough miles on to tell? It must have been a bit weird to see your engine all torn apart like that...

well I have been on the tail end of a 14 day 2 off run of nights to just riding back and forth to work, plus its been raining which is good for once because it will get rid of the dam/n snow and such.

It has been pulling great, break in to me is varying speeds all the time, top to bottom. I have not got to put it thru the twists too much right now but after tomorrow I will. It is awesome to ride in shorts again, over 30 degrees I mean.

I guess they will not do that as of right now and if it breaks during spyderfest I am going to make a trip to canada...

hopefully it should be done on monday.

Sounds like a good plan to me. I am glad to hear you got it back now as well.

Old Top Fuel technique.....leave 'em where they land. :roflblack:

:agree::roflblack::roflblack: I prefer your new Avatar Scotty very nice by the way.

And no I still have shocks in a box but I'm getting closer to moving on to that project.

WTF, come on jim, in the box, its got to be warm enough to ride down there and aren't there road restrictions? put them on and they make a world of difference.

the spyder is running great, another 2 weeks and I am sure I will have to take the snow tire off, doing a run with some guys on monday.

Yah Mahn! :yes: Hide the women and children, The Seth Machine is BAAACK! That is so cool dude. You must be relieved that whole thing is behind you. Sounds like the mechanic did a good job for you also, which is a huge relief. I know there were some initial concerns there, but they came through. Just in time for the riding season, too!
