• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

I HATE DAYLIGHT SAVING

but think of the logistics on travel....:yikes: and though we have phones and computers that reset automatically one still looks a a clock or watch from time to time. Now to spend the day resetting all the appliances thoughout the house....IMHO they should give this up..it served its purpose when Ben Franklin presented it but no longer does much but mess with our sleep....:lecturef_smilie:

I only have one clock to set manually. Everything else resets automagically.

I love it! I love the extra daylight in the evening. I would like to see the clocks stay in the DST mode year round.

The reason we can't keep DST in the winter is because you'd end up sending kids to school in the dark and driving to work in the dark - when the days are short you can't shift an hour from the morning to the evening. We just don't need sunlight at 5am - so those are the hours we can use in the evening.

We have these things nowadays called headlights.... Even on farm equipment..... Just sayin'......

Yes and kids on bikes or walking certainly have them attached. Fortunately, also, our sight is just as good in the dark as it is during the day.

It's an hour, get over it and enjoy the hour at night.

I think you misunderstood. I would prefer it stay DST year round. I don't appreciate the whole getting dark at 4:30 in the afternoon during the winter!

I did misunderstand, but it's the same problem. We need regular time so that it's light in the morning! If it were just my schedule, I would be with you, but it's about what's best for everybody!

(Sorry if I came off snarky to you.)

Not a problem! There's just no happy medium with changing time on everyone unfortunately. I wish I didn't have to work at all--then it wouldn't be such a big deal (I think....hope....). LOL!!!
