• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

i forgot to mention...another gun story

That is fine to start your practice. But don't forget, you actually have to shoot on the range with the loads you carry in combat. Otherwise, in a combat situation your "appreciation" of the gun's "attitude" won't be right, and it could cost you dearly.
:agree:
:agree: I forgot to mention that I don't shoot factory loaded fodder in anything...
Cost didn't enter into my equation... :opps:
A reloader since the late-seventies!

If you're shooting a "shorter" round out of a rev9olver...
(44 specail in a 44 mag, 38 spl in a 357 mag... etc...)

You have to be extra careful about cleaning that cylinder out... The residue left in the chamber from those rounds, can cause the longer rounds to "stick", and make ejection dificult!

IfI go to the range, and then don't immediately clean my guns when I get home, Grandpa's and Dad's ghosts will haunt me all night, :yikes: and at 3 AM, I'll be sitting in the basement, cleaning them! nojoke

They're more than just proud of you!

Some of my guns were theirs . . . I guess they want to make sure their guns get taken care of. My oldest "family" gun is a Winchester .38-55 Model 1894 that Grandpa bought with his first Army paycheck in 1914 . . . it turns 100 this year!

I've got a couple of Grampa Denman's guns...
including one real old one; My Great-Great-Great-Great Grampa's Blackpowder rifle that he fed his family with after emigrating... in 1795!
