• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

I feel better w/ the belt guard on

Now that I have no back fender, I got the belt guard from SpyderPops. Been riding it after work and I have to tell you I feel more comfortable knowing it's on there. Our driveway is a long gravely one so I was always worrying about the belt, specially after I saw a pic posted on here w/ a rock in it.

Now I just have to do the air dam - haven't had time.

Been hot out during the evenings but the bike has been running well - 3 - 4 bars. Also wasn't sitting in traffic either to make the bars go up.

New Spyders are really nice looking but I'll be keeping this one. If they came out w/ a fairing & sound system on a new rs I'd be all over it but no such luck this year.

I'm tellin you man, I don't think I would run mine without a belt guard on. PERIOD. Glad you got one on yours.

Would love to see a place like Corbin or Wide Open Custom make one for the Spyder with areas to put in a good sound system. Have options to have one come with a system preinstalled or add the sound yourself.

And that's where the aftermarket comes in. Yes I know it's not an inexpensive mod but a new :spyder2: like this wouldn't be inexpensive either. Also doing it this way you can pick your own audio parts instead of being stuck with what The Company wants you to have.

I don't want an RT. Too much stuff. I don't want the luggage, I like a sleek sporty look. Just a small fairing.

Yup, I'm with you on that one as well. Certainly no knock on the RT, the RT is a fine ride that appears top be getting even better. I'm a sports car/bike guy, so th RT just doesn't do it for me. But that is just me...

I am sure not knocking the air dam, have one myself. That said maybe you should go back to your dealer and request a new fan. I went into limp mode due to heat problems put on the air dam and still ran to hot for my likeing. Went back to dealer and BRP put the new fan on for me under warranty. It is the fan for a 2010, square case, and covers the open areas where air escapes. Seemed to help my Spyder run cooler. The fan is $219.00 if you buy it yourself, but BRP will replace yours if you have a heat problem.

Maybe worth a try. I have a 2009 GS.

Who makes the fairing on the Red one?

Not my cup of tea but could be for many people--- would look best in black.

I'll probably get a belt guard too as it's a cheap enough mod and could save $$$$... and I like doing fishtales up and down gravel roads .....:yikes:
