2015 F3 Chirping noise that I cannot locate - any ideas?

My 2015 F3-S developed a "chirping" noise about two years ago @ about 35,000 miles. The sound usually occurs at 65-75 MPH. Sometimes it goes away when you change speed a little, but it usually returns. It sounds like it's coming from the drive belt area. I have adjusted the belt alignment and tension (set at 180 lbs) with no elimination of the sound. It had a BRP idler installed well before the noise started, but I have replaced the roller with Lamont's larger roller twice with no change. It has been making the sound both before and after the front sprocket recall & replacement was done - no change. I recently sprayed some belt dressing on it (both toothed side and flat side) which totally silenced it. I didn't like the idea of doing that and questioned what it would do to the belt long term, so I cleaned it and the and the chirping returned. It is the original belt and has about 42,000 miles.

Any help would be appreciated.

Hey Lefty. You have narrowed it down to the belt, which is good. It's not a bearing or anything like that. The belt is much more kevlar than rubber. You didn't hurt it with the belt dressing. It's pretty tough. However, this chirping noise started a long time ago and BRP came out with a paper on that. It doesn't just happen on acceleration, that is when it is most often heard, but it can happen anytime. I have heard it myself coming from various other Spyders.

The document was issued in 2012, and that's why it states the years up to 2012. But, it is applicable to today and perfectly safe for the belt. Any synthetic grease will be OK. It doesn't have to be specifically XPS synthetic grease. But, it's just a little friction interaction between the teeth on the belt and the grooves in the sprockets that creates a noise. So, read over the document and give this a try. This could be it. Give the grease time to become uniformly spread.

I trust that you have already given the belt AND the sprockets a good inspection and found no other issues.

Thank you so much for the help. I bought some good synthetic grease (Not expensive) and applied it as directed three days ago. No chirping at all during the last three days and about 250 miles!! It's been great not having to listen to that annoying chirping!
