• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Yesterday as I rolled into Broken Bow, NE for the evening..Ms. Spyder decided she reallllly did not want to shift....got to motel...same problem in am...so headed for North Platte, NE dealership. They were totally wonderful to work my RT in....but the tech said he felt I should NEVER use Amsoil (which I have been using since I did the 3000 mile service). He said I should only use BRP semi-synthetic...and that he felt the Amsoil was causing the shifting issues. So he did a filter/oil change using the BRP product...and $395.00 later she appears to be shifting ok...will find out tomorrow when I head out again. He also stated that he was pretty sure that warranty would not cover any damage (which he said he was sure had not happened YET!!!) that could be attributed to using other than BRP oil while under warranty.....
I have always used Amsoil in my vehicles...yes I have the Amsoil designed for motorcycles....
Tech also said that no matter what oil I use I should change filters and oil every 3000 miles.
OK my brain is tired..spent all day on dealers couch (very comfy by the way) and I am more tired than if I had been ryding all day.....:dontknow:
How the HELL do you decide what is right? This is when I covet the Scotty brain and SKILLS to do the work.
Never fear I will get the right answer for my Spyder....

:helpsmilie:395.00 oil & filters Change :yikes:...OMG..Where both filters changed on last service and how many mi. did you have on it from last service really hard to believe Amsoil was the cause of your problem, But I'm glad you where able to get it working and proceed on your way take care and ride safe...

Freebob...:doorag:

More than likely your oil was a little on the low side that would cause balky shifting. Also BRP recommends changing both filters at 3 thousand miles. As far as oil gos
AS long as the oil you use motorcycle oil API-JASO-MA-Synthetic, They can't deny your warranty.
