Yesterday as I rolled into Broken Bow, NE for the evening..Ms. Spyder decided she reallllly did not want to shift....got to motel...same problem in am...so headed for North Platte, NE dealership. They were totally wonderful to work my RT in....but the tech said he felt I should NEVER use Amsoil (which I have been using since I did the 3000 mile service). He said I should only use BRP semi-synthetic...and that he felt the Amsoil was causing the shifting issues. So he did a filter/oil change using the BRP product...and $395.00 later she appears to be shifting ok...will find out tomorrow when I head out again. He also stated that he was pretty sure that warranty would not cover any damage (which he said he was sure had not happened YET!!!) that could be attributed to using other than BRP oil while under warranty.....
I have always used Amsoil in my vehicles...yes I have the Amsoil designed for motorcycles....
Tech also said that no matter what oil I use I should change filters and oil every 3000 miles.
OK my brain is tired..spent all day on dealers couch (very comfy by the way) and I am more tired than if I had been ryding all day.....:dontknow:
How the HELL do you decide what is right? This is when I covet the Scotty brain and SKILLS to do the work.
Never fear I will get the right answer for my Spyder....
