There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. How cold was it last night????

The "blessings" of Lake Effect snow, eh bob. I am guessing there are gonna be a lot of happy snowmobilers on the plateau this week. A good week for it too, with Greg Zippadelli's charity ride this weekend. Tony Stewart and the other nascar drivers will get to play in all the best tug hill has to offer.
Sorry bout the shoveling out thing though. I hope it is typical LE snow in that it is not wet and heavy. Think Spring:pray:

Tug hill snow conditions should be great this weekend! Going to be pretty cold to start off, Sundy temps here are going to be 25 F. Hope the groomers are out and going.

It is -7 F. here now, no wind though.

So you share my affliction?? I need to ride 12 months out of the year so I still keep sleds in the garage.

I am working in Norhtern Maine thse last couple of days and last night it was -27 degrees. Got up this morning and was driving to my first job and I headed down into a low spot and it was -34 degrees. I've never seen it that could before. The company I work for put GPS in our vehicles and if we let our vehicle idle more than 15 minutes we get these nasty texts. They want us to shut our vehicles off. The last few days that didn't happen. I am now on the bad boy list .

-34 degrees :yikes::yikes:!! Question for all of you northern Spyder owners---Does a body ever become accustomed to the bone chilling (or pickle freezing)

temperatures???? This is a serious question???

When I moved down to Charlotte right out of college the first summer about killed me. Your body does adjust, and you always dress for the occasion.

I don't much care for the cold anymore. We learn how to dress for the cold pretty quick. It also helps to take up activities that are fun in the cold and snow. Ski, Snowshoe, sled, etc. Makes you look foward to the weekend and the winter goes by quicker. Our snowmobiles will be running all weekend and the conditions are excellent.

Glad to hear you will still be makin miles Bob. My sled went north with my parents and a family friend this weekend. Seeing as how I will not be riding for a few weeks, it worked out well. Happy (groomed) Trails!!

I work out doors for the most part. When I started my job here in the early nineties they gave me short sleeve uniform shirts. I said are you kidding me it gets to minus 40 F out there? They didn't issue long sleeve shirts. :yikes:. To answer your question. Yes you do. I wear t shirts and golf shirts in the winter now. What you don't get used to is how long your motorcycle stays in storage. Some years I feel like I get more time on my snow blower. Praying that spring comes early:pray:.

New Yamaha RS Venture 973 CC 4 stroke 2-up waiting to get abused. Nan won't drive, she is crazy enough to ride behind me thou.

Hope you are riding soon.

Nan & I are both on the DEC Wilderness Search & Rescue call list, and are trained in Basic Ice Rescue. Used to train a lot, not so much anymore, but we stay ready if the need arises. Another of our winter activities.

That is awesome. I am with the local volunteer fire department here and I am part of the search and rescue team. We have a lot of state land, and trails around me so I see a bit more action than I would really like. But I enjoy being able to get to that person who is lost and/or hurt out there. Makes you feel good eh? I bought my last New sled in 2007. Was an 800 MX-Z X-RS. First year of the X-RS model and it was a lot of fun. Sold it right after I paid it off and bought two used ones. The payment is no fun in June. I went one winter w/o a sled, and will never do it again.

I stopped at the gas station yesterday morning to air up all 4 tires. I should have known better than not to have gloves on when handling the end of the air hose. I still have two fingers on my right hand feeling the effects (frost bite?).

-25, colder with the wind chill in Ottawa, it has been the coldest week in 7 yrs here. Luckily heading to the warmth next Friday!

As the years pass, I like the winter months less and less. Like mentioned above you try to do winter activities. But I would much rather go somewhere warm and do warm weather activities!

Was about 0 degrees out when i picked my loaded trailer up in iowa, about the same temperature inside the thing, had to keep the reefer unit running so the fuel wouldn't gel up. Pretty much outran that big storm all the way to new jersey when it caught up to me while i was waiting to get unloaded. Its supposed to be about 40-50 when i get back to the house this week.

We had some ice over here, but the worst has passed. Get home safe.
