• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Hot Days-Check Engine Lights

Has anyone rode their RT on really hot, dry days (105 or so) and then let it sit in direct sunlight and got a check engine warning? I've had this happen twice here in Tucson this summer, but once I let it sit in my garage for a few hours and cool off (the temp gauge started at 122 for air temp and dropped to 113 when I got around to shutting the engine down for the day) it is always fine. Now the radiator temp gauge is nice and normal the whole time I drove, so I wasn't worried about continuing to drive it with the warnings, but I just wondered if this is common...maybe someone who's driven across Nevada, Utah, Arizona or New Mexico on the way to Durango...? Let me know...thanx!

The great folks on here helped me with this one recently. As I was told its a IAT fault(intake air temp). The default is 123-125 degrees so if it gets there, check engine comes on. Mine happened while we were taking the MSC on a 100 degree day driving around in 1st gear on a concrete parking lt for 4 hrs. As soon as class was over and we headed for home, the air flow was enough to erase it.

Sounds like I shouldn't worry about it...:)

Mine did it yesturday 103 outside & 125 on the guage.while we were still vacationing from the Durango trip. I knew what the light was on for, so I just kept ryding till we hit our next stop. What I did notice was the amount of fuel we used. 5.3 gal and went only 100miles. During the Durango trip. BRP Tech stated that the Spyder will insert more fuel to try and cool the engine. It's in the programming. So I will next time stop and see if I can get the code to clear before continuing on. I usually get around 150 mile before fueling up. I feel that since the Spyder was created in the cold climate. They need to re-write a program for a hot weather application like we live in.. Like that will ever happen..

So, that's what happened to our fuel mileage. The mileage on a couple of tanks in the heat of the day was downright awful. Thanks for the info...
