There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Switched out the horn for a Wolo Bad Boy. It was easy and took about 30 mins, which includes installing the relay. Two minutes if you don't install the relay.

I've also heard folks say, that if you really lay on the Naut or BB without the relay in place; it can pop some things in the electricals... :shocked:

i bought the wolo bad boy horn two years ago at harbor freight for 32 bucks- with the re-lay. it looks exactly like the stebel. i'm sure they both come out of the same chinese horn factory. install is easy. one hot line from battery to relay. bolting it to a frame member with the ground, makes it simple. it's probably not simple on an r t , nothing is.

Wolo Bad Boy on 2014 RT. It points out the RF lower grill, right where the OEM horn was located. $38 at Harbor Freight.

Just got a Bad Boy today. Mine looks a little different, but the install was quite easy.
I made an L bracket to secure the Bad Boy to the OEM horn's bolt.
A fused wire to the battery and that's it.
Note to self ... don't sit next to the horn when testing it ! :lecturef_smilie:

I left the OEM horn on my 2010 RT. Added the replay to work off the OEM horn. Installed the Bad Boy horn on the opposite side, same location as the OEM horn.
So, when the key is out or off, the OEM horn still works but not the Bad Boy. With ignition turned on or when the RT is running, both horns sound. A real attention getter!
I also bought my BadBoy air horn at Harbor Freight for about $35 on sale.

Got a Bad Boy (Stebel chinese copy) on mine and use the original horn circuit to power the primary side of the relay
and a fused (20Amp) line from the battery for the secondary side to the horn. I wouldn't want to try pulling 20 Amps through
the OEM wiring harness in case things get hot!

Going to install a Wolo Bad Boy horn on new RT . I found the instructions on line .
Instructions say that you must use the provided relay when wiring horn up to a motorcycle.
The reason given is that the motorcycle horn draws less amperage than Bad boy horn and can damage motorcycle horn switch and OEM horn wiring.
Also use no less than 16 gauage wiring.

I did not care for the wimpy horn that came on my 2014 RT... so I ordered a Wo Lo Bad Boy #419 to replace the OEM.... I am sorry I did... when started to install it... I noticed that the negative spade connection was loose ... when I tried to plug the connection.. the spade just went into the horn... I took it apart and jerry rigged it... I had already cut off the connectors on the OEM horn... so I installed the Bad Boy horn so I would not be without a horn all together... but i know it won't last long...
I called Wo Lo horns to let them know that the horn I got was defective... THEY COULD HAVE CARED LESS... i should have known better... next time i order a horn... i will buy a QUALITY horn .. not a piece of junk..

I cannot speak for the 2014 but on my 2011 I used the Bad Boy horn (Harbor Freight) and did not use the relay.
The stock horn draws 5 amps. The bad boy hits about 12 amps on initial start then drop to about 8. I have held the horn for a full minute and did not pop anything! Wires were not hot or even warm!
If you need your horn for more than a minute then you have other problems
So my opinion only is you do not need the relay! Worse thing that can happen is you pop a fuse. If you are a nit picker, use the relay.
I have the skills to have easily hooked up the relay. So it's not that I could not use it, I just wanted to see if it worked without using it as I had a feeling it would. 6 months now without the relay and no issues. Had a popped a fuse, I would put the relay on.
Finally if you search here you will find MANY people that have used the Bad Boy and Seible without the relay and also had no issues.
