• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. Quick ???

I cant seem to find the 50/50 prestone or Peak for aluminum radiators was was suggested for the spyder other than the Prestone DEX which says its formulated for GM cars.

Has anyone used Hondas premixed coolant?
Since I dont need that much and its close by, I thought about giving it a try as I need to add some tonight.

thoughts or suggestions to locate the major brands that will work in the Spyder?

coolant

I believe Honda coolant is Blue in color, Gm is red and my 2010 takes regular green coolant. It is not recomended to mix these coolants. Be sure what color you need.

other brands

Pretty sure the coolant I saw in the res was green also.
Some say that they can be mixed with any color.

I called another Can Am dealer near by, and they are out of course, but they say that they have polaris and several others that will work?

will they?

You don't need one for aluminum radiators...just aluminum engines. It usually says so on the label, but sometimes in fine print. It may say "Safe for ALL engines" instead. Get the green (ethylene glycol). All the major brands have it, and are safe.

Found the Can Am stuff near by at a non can am dealer, and put it in.. still runs hot :-( The loss of coolant is probably a symptom not the cause...

Did you ever check your fan to see that it was working? If you have done that, and checked that the radiator cap is fiully turned to the second detent, the next thing to do is check for leaks...usually at the coolant hose with the regular hose clamp (the only one). Beyond that it is a job for your dealer, likely thermostat or water pump.

thanks..
I drove it to work today. In traffic temp rose to the line between the square above half and the square below the hot temp. It pretty much stayed there...

So is that normal or is it running hot?

That's pretty normal in stop-n-go traffic. At that point your fan should be on...or close to it. Did you feel for airflow to see if it was working.
