There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. Hitch question...

It's probably been asked before. I did a search but didn't see the question. Does the BRP hitch work with any other trailer? I know that an aftermarket hitch will void the warranty.

Have to agree..!!

:agree: ball size can be changed if needed and the electrical plug may not match but can be changed as well.

:agree:, the hitch can fit the standard ball sizes. And with the new 4 square adapter, it is easy to create a jumper to a 4 in-line pin.;)

I use three different trailers with mine. Does that answer your question? And I agree wholeheartedly about the electrical connections...especially if you have the original 9-pin round connector, or a 2010 version of the module (that still works).

Me too. I have the 2013 hitch and an aftermarket trailer. I simply cut the flat 4 pin connector off the trailer and spliced in the square 4 I got from Amazon and voila. It works like a charm. No issues.

I did the same thing... I was going to take pictures last night and forgot.:opps:

That, my friends, is what I was looking for. I like the 622 trailer but the price tag is a bit rough for me. I still have some warranty left on my 2012 and I do like the BRP hitch. So, Now I need to get the money together for the hitch.

I highly recommend the BRP hitch and module. There are alternate ways to do this, but any problems that would affect your warranty would most likely be caused by incompatible or improperly done wiring, a hitch without the built-in shock absorbing capabilitiues the BRP hitch has, or by an overweight trailer. The factory hitch can't resolve the last problem, but it can keep the first two from being a worry.

So can I attach my Bushtec trailer to the hitch? I know there is a plug and play cable harness assembly from Bushtec or so I'm told.

You can attach any trailer that takes a 1 7/8" ball without modification. The wiring may need to be modified or adapted...especially if the trailer has a 5-wire system.

I have an old Bushtec, 1986, and purchased a pin hitch from Bushtec to use instead of the 1-7/8" ball. The wiring connector was modified, but other than that, no changes.

I suspect you could remove the hitch ball and replace it with a pin, but it would probably be better to modify the trailer to use a ball hitch. More bearing surface on a ball hitch.

If the trailer is 4-wire, just change the connector to fit the hitch's square-4. If it is 5-wire, some modifications to the trailer lighting/wiring will be needed if you use the BRP hitch/module.
