• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

HESITATION WHILE RIDING IN HOT WEATHER

Questions

New member
I notice when Im running in warmer weather (mid to upper 80s) that I get a slight hesitation in the throttle when I take off and sometimes running at 55-60 range.I throttle up or down a little then it goes away. Would it be something simple like needing gas treatment ? I have a 2012 RT SM5. I don't notice it all the time, just in warmer weather.

Thanks in advance.

I don't have a solid answer.

Does the machine power sag or just hesitate?

What fuel brand and grade do you burn in the Spyder. You may consider two tanks of a quality fuel such as Chevron, Texaco, Mobil, Exxon or other major brand.

Also try running a couple of tanks of the best octane.

See if this makes a change.

Obvious things could be a fuel filter concern but that seems slim considering it is not a constant problem or happening under all acceleration events.

I know other here have had spark plug wire issues. You did not mention a misfire, but that can be a possibility.

If it were me, I would replace the intercylinder vacuum hose. If the engine is running stable, but borderline on account of a vacuum leak, any throttle change will feel lean, causing a hesitation and then the power may resume.

I don't have a link, however there are a lot of topics here about the hose replacement. I believe Finless Bob even did a video.
Seems the better solution is to replace the oem rubber hose with a high temp version made from silicone.

All the best with it.
