There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. Help needed
several weeks ago, I bought used 2020 RT LTD with only 7900 miles. Latches sticking on both saddle bags. Found a poor video on You tube that presumed you knew how to replace the cables, then talked for a few seconds about adjustment. I bought a service manual but it lists nothing that I can find.

This isn't an uncommon problem with the CanAm latches..... Sorry but not I'm familiar enough with the 2020 Rt set-up. To give good advice. .... I'm sure someone else here will tell you ..... Mike

You can reach up under the saddle bag area to get to the latch cable for adjusting. I had one of my handles break it was so tight. Dealer replaced under warranty. Tom :spyder:

:gaah: I've tried to adjust mine several times with very little luck getting them set to pop open without beating on the side of the box. They were not well engineered for dust or corrosion issues. Another thing for my dealer to look into when I get it there for other concerns as well. The cable is up and forward of the box. You should be able to feel a dial type nut on the cable, they have a backer nut that you need to be loosen first, then dial the nut forward or reverse to adjust and reset the backer nut, all by feel and fingers, no wrenches necessary. Good Luck! ..........Bill

very hard pull on saddlebag latches. 2020 RT LTD

Need Help. goofed, put in wrong section yesterday
Just bought used 2020 RT LTD from dealer, 8k miles. No warranty. Previous owner garage kept, looks showroom paint, etc. Both latches very tight. looking at photos, latch assembly is not supposed to stick out 1/4" inch, but these do. Can't find anything in shop manual that I bought, nor anything in these threads. There's a video on YouTube, but it seems to be for guys that already know this system, not rookies like me.

Thanks knizar, my 2020 RTL left cargo box lid is frozen shut, I ran the adjust nut all the way tight, but at your suggestion I'll run it all the out and then back off in increments and see what happens. The dealer is an hour forty five from me, then they have to do a picture for BRP warranty approval if it's anything other than simple. A real hassle for me just hanging out usually for about 2 or 3 hours around the shop while they fiddle.

I had the same problem. You need to either tighten or loosen the adjustment cables.
In my case. I had to tighten the cables to preload them, so the latch did less work.
Here is the solution from cptjam:

Sorry, posted in wrong section

Rather than trying to close the thread in the wrong section off and starting again in the correct section, you should just drop a PM explaining your issue to any of the Moderators & we'll fix it for you - as has been done now...

If we see what you've done before that, we'll probably fix it anyway, but it might happen quicker if you give one of us a heads up! ;)

2 things:
Bill, there is a service bulletin out for sticking cables. Contact the dealer to order replacements.
All cables require lube. Disconnect one end, get it higher than the other end, add a few drops of light machine oil (3 in 1 oil) until the cable slides smoothly in the casing. Reconnect. Adjust using the cable adjuster and locking wheel.

Thanks Joe, I did spend some time under the hard bag adjusting the cable screw. Went through the turns with the wife manipulating the latch, didn't work. I did stop off at the dealer Saturday, the service writer checked it and could not get it to work, so I made an appointment so they could go into the thing, take their pics and get approval if they can't fix it. I will mention to the service writer there is a service bulletin on the prob.
