• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. Help. My Dealer is trying to kill me (smile)

Yesterday my dealer upgraded my 2010 RT with the 2011 OEM shocks.
I took my normal back road route home yesterday to see if I could tell the difference.
I didn't notice any real change in the stability or cornering until I looked at the speedometer and noticed I was taking turns at least 10 MPH faster.
That put me 10 to 20 over the posted speed.
What a great ride.
The ELKA shocks must be even more deadly!

 I'd have him arrested! :roflblack:
At the least he's trying to get your driver's license revoked! :gaah: :roflblack:
Elkas are rolling criminal intent!

Took my Elka 1 shocks out for the first time yesterday and I was doing 20 miles faster then my previous fastest comfortable speed on a s curve. Like it was on rails.

dip

I have been riding the roads of the hill country in Texas for the last three months Sometimes the dip in the road is to extreme and the front end has hit bottom 2 times now. Would ELKA shocks kept that from happening? I suck cause I can not keep pace with the Harleys I ride with. I have to slow down. :ohyea:

:hun:

I want to make it clear that we are not responsible for any infractions from law enforcement due to excessive speed or hooliganisms on your Elka outfitted Spyders. :lecturef_smilie:

;)

Sorry, but you may as well be the driver of the getaway car! :roflblack::roflblack::ohyea::roflblack::roflblack:

p.s. Can't wait to get my Elka's at Spyderfest.

I know that the Elkas give more ground clearance.

Now that I have my Elka stage 5's dialed in, it is crazy how flat the tryke is in the turns. It makes me think that I need a set on my sled! Thank god I have a radar detector! Thanks Elka!

Interesting thread hijack

I'm sure the ELKAs are a great product. Many people are clearly happy with them.

My original point was that the newer version OEM shocks were a great improvement. I was able to get them from someone who upgraded, so my out of pocket cost was minimal.

So , I was using an amusing comment to basically say that I'm very happy with the OEM upgrade, and I feel I got a better value.

Interesting in deed, glad your Happy as I know the 2010 stockers S U C K E D ***

I was curious myself to see how much of a dif. there was between the 10 & 11 OEM stockers were, but Teds Red Sled from Len at Cowtown came with Elkas on them :firstplace: Im  but Teddy gets pizzed at me as we now get air:yikes:borne much more often on my favorite roads :yes:

I also upgraded my 2010 RT to 2011 OEM shocks and I'm pleased with the results for the money. The RT corners flatter and with more stability. I especially notice the differnce if the corner is a little rough and bumpy. I know the Elkas or Works Performance would be even better, but I could afford the 2011 OEM's and I couldn't afford Elkas or Works. I agree that 2011 Oem's are worth the money.

:agree: Your Spyder hauls in the twisties Dave. I couldn't believe my eyes. :yikes:

How you found that road is still a mystery to me, but what a road it was.

I live (and ride) in the Hill Country (6 miles south of the Koyote Ranch on hwy 16)... Elkas (stage 1) have made the twisties like smooth railroad tracks...

I bought a set of 2011's and haven't had the time to put them on but that is on the schedule for today. Elka's weren't in my budget just now so I'm hoping that I like the 2011's.

dealer woes.

You think you got it bad,, what do you think of having three tires installed new and an oil change and having to pay over $800.00?:spyder2:

The worst thing I have discovered since I got a Spyder is::yikes: Dealers are making lots of money with the prices they charge for what should be just normal maintenance, And this is made even worse by the fact that many of them seem to have untrained or inexperienced "wrenches" working in their Service Dept.
$300+ for an oil change?? Give me a break! Not to mention that in most of the Country the Dealerships are so few and far apart that it makes an additional burden on we owners. When there is no, or little competition, then the sky's the limit when it comes to gouging the customer. I think they think we are in the same category as Mercedes and BMW, etc. owners, where money is not an issue. Well, it is, if you don't have much!
:gaah:

:opps: You guys are really making me feel as if I'm mssing out on something here... Still on my no-good for nothing, lousy piece of :cus:, birdcraplike 2010 shocks... set on #4 preload and still loving the ryde! :roflblack: :2thumbs:
