• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Help gotta make a choice by 6pm

Title says it all.. need to make a color choice by 6pm

I know before anyone says it the choice is mine but not too excited about either color and the $400 doesn't play a role because they are selling me the Spyder for $15000 regardless of color so the yellow I guess is a better buy since it is a $400 upgrade...

Either way it will be painted in the winter but tired of waiting and my dealer just called and confirmed that the red WILL NOT meet the certificate deadline whatsoever..

There are pigmentation broblems at brp with the red paint so it has been officially delayed just not officially announced anywhere on their website.. The rep told my dealer anybody with a red SM5 can switch this week to either color and he guarantees them delivered within 30 days..

With all that being said I am torn and need my Spyder families help....

Yellow OR Silver

Ouch! Sorry to hear that. I'd certainly go with another color just to get the Spyder on the road. Yellow is quite visible, and we chose it for that reason. Really grows on you. The silver looks a bit less like a snowmobile, and makes a decent base coat for some candy colors if you are repainting anyway. Your choice, I'm afraid. Can't possibly know your likes and dislikes. Good luck with your brain wracking.

I picked yellow for mine. Wasn't to sure at first but it really pops in the sun.

I think the yellow is more visible and eye catching, but the silver is more timeless. Mustangs and SSRs sold on the distinctive yellow paint, but it can also date them. It will be interesting to see which color survives in the Spyder line or if they change them out frequently like they do on their Sea Doo models.

1 vote for silver...

Yellow, it's faster! Besides, Jay Leno's is Yellow.

OK, I have to cast a vote for silver...

1. What Scotty said about repainting. (This one will eventually be black)

2. Technically it's not "silver" it's "full moon." Obviously cooler.

3. I hate when I am mistaken for Jay Leno in public, so I opted away from the yellow.

PS The house I purchased over six years ago has yellow siding. The first thing I'll change after moving in is that siding, I said.

I'm only replacing the siding this summer. (Yes, with "full moon" silver siding, if you must know!)

My point is, we did a lot of living in the house without concern about the color. I really think you may not care about the color when you're ryding, you'll be having such a blast!

Giddy Up!! Great photos!

I just have to wonder, though, why are the Yellow and Red $400 more?

Yellow OR Silver

I also ordered a Red SM5 in late May. My certificate states 31 Aug 08. Prior to ordering it I had already read the BRP release that said delivery would be around October for the Red and this is what I have planned for. Has this changed??? :dontknow:

I also have heard nothing from my dealer about the pigment problem or ordering a different color within a week.

If it were me in your position I would demand from your dealer some kind of confirmation from BRP before I would commit to a change. Some dealers are a little slick if you know what I mean. He (Salesperson/Dealer) may just be trying to get a sale this month for whatever reasons.

Besides, every time you see a Red one Your little voice will say "I should have waited". :chat:

If you are going to repaint in the winter - I'd go with the Silver. A better base coat IMO. What colour(s) are you going to paint it.

Sounds like my Red SE5 will be ready around next year at this rate :banghead:

Go silver.

Yellow is for Yuppies.. (Muahahahahhaaha!!!! roflmao)

I went silver because I did not think that a different color justified a 400.00 markup.

Plus I think it looks a bit classier.

I do like Evolutizones with the stripped down look. No rear fender takes a bit of the Blinding glare away from the horrible shade of yellow they chose.

But I want mine painted.. Just do not know when or what color.

Thanks for the advice but I've bought several bikes from them and there is no BS going on here.. I wish it was a chance to meet certificate date but I know it will not happen.. As far as the Oct. date that is the new expected del timeframe..

There will be alot of upset folks who ordered red because this will be the first time BRP hasn't met the deadlines to the best of my knowledge. Not trying to defend the dealer her but the info is legit in my opinion..

I guess we'll see what happens but for now I guess I will be riding my new
%&^#@$ Spyder by the end of the month.. Oh well I'm happy not thrilled but happy to be with the 30 day window...

:yes::yes::yes:

Silver is my vote. I debated for a while which color I wanted to get in the end I chose the Silver and glad I did.

SILVER!!!!! :D Ok, when I figure out how to post pix, I'll show why, my Ridgeline is Silver, the wife's Pilot is Silver and #1115 :spyder: looks like a happy offspring when they're all in the driveway. :2thumbs:

That is a nice looking ride John. Minor thread stickup.

I realize I'm six and a half hours too late but I vote silver dbnc. I think it makes more sense if you are going to repaint the Spyder this winter.
