Please excuse the long post. On another post I mentioned that I was having the steering lock-up problem that others were having. I also said that I would give the Dealership and BRP one chance to correct the problem before I would report it to NHTSA. I rented a trailer and took my Spyder to a Dealership near Houston on 2-13-10 and went back home. At 3pm that day the dealership called and said they had done the recall work and also the updates. They also said that It needed rear brake pads which they would install for approx. $170.00 . This surprised me because about 10 days earlier I had installed a new rear tire and the pads were fine! I told them no thanks!! When I arrived on 2-16-10 to pick it up,the first thing I asked the Service Manager was-- DID THEY TAKE IT FOR A TEST RIDE?? He says NO because it needed brake pads !! I asked him again and when he saw that I was annoyed he looked at the invoice and said OH,WAIT I guess they did ride it because the Tech. made a note that said : STEERING ROUGH BUT DID NOT LOCK-UP!!!
