There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. heated helmet visor

Hi Guys,
Anyone seen or heard of a heated visor for the BRP helmet which is supposed to stop misting up.
I have been told that it plugs into the trunk power socket.
Done some searches but I am obviously not entering the right criteria to get any results back.
Your help would be welcome

By the way I'm in the UK

The BRP helmets were made by Scorpion and Scorpion sells a heated visor made for snowmobile riding. Those visors can be mounted on some (if not all) of the Scorpion helmets.

:2thumbs: Amazing! A world of knowledge here ....all you have to do is ask!

Looks like you can get the electric setup for the EXO 400, 700 & 900 series Scorpion model helmets.

Get anywhere with this?

I found several references from the BRP helmet to the EXO 700. So that is at least 1 EXO model that BRP labeled.

The EXO 900 is a modular helmet that transforms from a full face flip-up to a 3/4 open face helmet to a Motard visor dual purpose configuration.

Still not sure which EXO model helmet yours is.

Looks like you can get the heated shield for the EXO 400/700 series for $89 and the heated shield for the EXO 900 series for $97 (plus shipping).

The power cord is around $8 and another $8 or so for the electric jack.

It also shows an electric shield coversion part number for $89. But only for the EXO 400/700 series. Looks like you need this to covert a non-snowmobile helmet to accept the electric shield.

Have not found a listing for an electric base plate conversion kit for the EXO 900 series. It may be the EXO 900 doesn't need it or it can't be converted or ?

Very interesting. A bit spendy but should be a one time upgrade.

The first picture is the EXO 400/700 shield, the 2nd is the EXO 900 shield.

I have the Can Am branded Scorpion helmet equivalent to the EXO 1000
This is the ONLY shield I have had that DOESNT fog. Ive tried in some pretty harsh conditions, and just cant get it to fog. This is what scorpion says about it

"EverClear no-fog faceshield: optically-correct shield with state-of-the art fog-free technology and anti-scratch hardened coating"

I believe it!:2thumbs:

Might be a better way to go than putting an electric shield on a helmet that does fog.

More importantly the heated shields are NOT DOT approved for breakage and clarity. They are made of two thin sheets of plastic with and air gap between them that is heated by the wire filiment. They work great for their INTENDED purpose. Doubt I would use on for road use .

Yes, having looked into it the reason for these is ice building up on the shield. Not for fogging (though it might work for that). Degraded vision probably isn't the problem on a snowmobile that it is on a street machine.

And it's got to be a lot better than a shiled covered with snow or ice!

Doesn't sound like a good idea for the Spyder.
